We loved our time at Yowie! The staff was responsive, friendly, and helpful. The space was clean and well appointed and very comfortable. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to do, including the amazing South Street area as as well as Washington Park and Reading Market. Even though this is a "contactless" hotel -- meaning there is no lobby -- the store and the cafe give you everything you need. The staff promptly responded to texts, and they allowed us to check in early and check out late and leave our bags in the store so that we could explore Philly. We will definitely be staying here again!

Yowie is officially the only place we stay when in town. It feels like a very cool version of our Brooklyn apartment. We love how unique each unit is and a testament to the style and creative eye of the owner / creator. ||There is no secret that South St. is rowdy on a weekend eve but there is always plenty of ear plugs provided in each room. It’s spotless and tastefully designed. It’s our home away from home and love every stay!

Yowie is an adorable hotel. Great location. Very clean. Nice that you can get coffee right downstairs at the cafe. The check in process is simple. Our room (205) was small but for one night it was perfect. The only negative was the noise. We could hear hallway noise, neighbors in the next room or above us, and street noise quite clearly. They do provide ear plugs, if you can sleep in them with a little card that says BUSY CITY, OLD BUILDING. So I guess it's expected. Otherwise very nice spot.

I stayed in room 206, the cozy queen, three nights on a work/fun trip. Check in was a breeze - you use a code to get in both the front and room doors and a small elevator greets you right as you enter the front door. Service is hard to gauge. It’s minimalist by design. I didn’t receive anything but also didn’t ask for anything. Dunno if turndown service is available - I came back each day and my room was as I left it. The room is cute, and the bathroom is particularly lovely. The room, however, is too efficient for its own good. There is no place to sit other than the bed. No desk, no chair, no good place to set up the ironing board. There is also no microwave, and just the small fridge which is full of mini bar cans. The space is loud. They provide earplugs which is helpful, but when your neighbor wakes you up at 6:30 in the morning blasting pink pony girl, earplugs can only do so much. The best part about the hotel is the location, right along South Street. It’s a great base of operations to see basically anywhere in the city. I didn’t feel the need to have a car. Yowie is a novel experience but I have a hard time recommending this particular room given its limitations. Perhaps the larger rooms offer a different experience.

Yowie is an incredible gem in the heart of a city. We absolutely loved staying in Suite 203, with multiple Bay windows, super creative furnishings and a clean design. We have stayed in other rooms previously and can confirm you can't go wrong with any of them, but I just loved the windows on 203 if that's available. Every little detail is thought through, from getting a code to check-in, to extra supplies in the drawer outside the room, to a beautiful book that showcases the history of YOWIE and YOWIE hotel. My wife and I were seeing friends nearby and got to walk to/from their place without issue. Great coffee shop on the ground floor as well to start your day off.

Booking with Sarah was delightful. Loved the easy check in and keyless entry. The room though, positively stunning! I could live in that room with it's big beautiful bay windows and carefully curated decor. A perfect experience from start to finish 💕

We had a wonderful stay at YOWIE hotel! Such a hidden gem with great amenities and reasonable prices. The rooms are clean, bright, and have everything you need! At first, our code wasn't working for the door but all it took was one quick call and the hotel manager came right over to assist and provide a new code that worked right away. Sarah was friendly and attentive, and I appreciated her quick help. It was also so nice that they offered a supply of extra toiletries and travel items in the hallway that were available to guests should you forget anything. Our room had a kitchenette, small fridge, and beautiful decor. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was a nice size for a boutique hotel. The location is perfect and an easy walk to Headhouse Square, Old City, and South Philly. We are local to the neighborhood and this will certainly become our new staycation spot!

Stayed in room 206 ... absolutely loved the careful attention to design and detail! Felt like I was part of an art piece. It's so nice the rooms have a kitchen available for storing drinks and reheating leftovers... it was like a home away from home. Plus, the neighborhood is so charming with great dining/activities at every corner. Definitely looking forward to booking extended-stays here with my family soon.

Hotel Yowie is hands-down one of the coolest boutique hotels in Philadelphia. It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking to experience the local vibe, walk to great restaurants, and stay somewhere with style and soul. The design is minimal and modern, with beautiful natural light, cozy linens, and thoughtful details in every room. It’s clear a lot of care went into creating a space that feels both elevated and welcoming. It is impecable clean, the self check-in process was super easy, and the staff were extremely friendly and responsive!! Bonus: the coffee and retail shops downstairs are both amazing—full of delicious drink curations, curated home goods, books, and pieces from independent artists. It really reflects the creative spirit of Philly and their team is beyond friendly and kind. Whether you’re visiting for a weekend getaway, a work trip, or just want to explore a more local side of Philadelphia, Hotel Yowie is a standout stay. Highly recommend!
