Make sure you are familiar with the Trade System Policy and that this is what you are looking for. It is a unique system.

Here are a few things you need to know before you drop off your trades:

1. The Trade System Policy states "We issue store credit based on 50%...of the estimated selling price of your items" Toys split is 40/60. However, they are currently evaluating "off season" items at a reduced amount of 33 1/3% which is significantly less than what is stated in the Policy.

2. The Trade System policy also states that "Your credit can then be applied to 1/2 of your purchase upon each visit, with some exceptions." Meaning you are obligated to spend the equivalent of whatever credit you earn in store credit. The higher your credit the more cash you have to spend. A $500 store credit will force you to spend $500 in their store. Either say goodbye to your favorite children's stores (Gymboree, Baby Gap, Janie & Jack, Nordstrom etc.) or chalk it up to one more expense. My suggestion, find a consignment store that gives you cash, or use craigslist and spend your cash on whatever you want wherever you want.

3. The FAQ Section of the Trade Agreement states "We do allow you to use your credit the 1st day we offer your items for sale..." I brought in items the end of July/ beginning of August and they planned to hold my items for 7 months in their inventory before offering my items for sale. My items were ready for sale when I dropped them off. Therefore, I would not receive compensation for my trade for 7 months even though they had it in their possession.

4. When you drop off your items you leave them in a bin with a piece of paper. You do not receive any type of receipt or evidence of the transaction and the processing time for them to evaluate the value of your goods can vary greatly from a couple weeks to a couple months.
