Was on the search for King of Tokyo and this place had the base game and the power up expansion -- for 10% off too! It's been owned by the same people since the 1970's, I believe. They have so many good news games as well as very old classics that are out of circulation now. 10/10 recommend for any board game enthusiasts.

Love this place. Been going here for a few years now since I moved to the city. Staff is extremely knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and extremely helpful. They carry great brands like Mr. and Tamiya. Also, I have really great in-house acrylics. I know I'm glazing, but I'm dead serious. This place should be your first stop. Gunpla, military, bandai, Universal horror kits, old tamiya dino kits, tools, waterslides, metal inserts, and they order stuff too. The store is full of niche board games and card games. It looks small from the outside, but it's packed with gems. I'm not even covering everything you have to see for yourselves. You won't regret it. THEIR TAMIYA IS SUUUUUPER CHEAP TOO. SURPRISINGLY AFFORDABLE.

First off, I loved the energy of this place! I've never been before but I was on a search for two specific board games (The Castles of Burgundy & Dominion) and a lot of places didn't have them. Fortunately, I called before coming to the store to ask if they had them in stock and they did! Even over the phone, Jessica was very nice and accommodating. Being that she only had the last copy of each, she even offered to put them on hold for me which was great! I ended up getting it the same day and the pricing was great because they also have a 10% off promo. Their other selections were great as well and they're very knowledgeable on all the games if you ask. Glad I could support a local small business, and if you're considering it you should too! Highly recommend you check them out!

Been one of Jessica's customers since the 90s. Great shop! Always finding treasures tucked away on the shelves. She has ordered countless products for me and my group. When I show up, she lets me know when new goodies have arrived that she knows I will be interested in. She has a vast knowledge of the model/paint and TT boardgame industries. I wish all game stores were as good as Viking Hobby! Wall of games 10 percent off saved me a ton of money.Great selection of Dungeons & Dragons! It's wonderful to support a local small business that gives superior service! I started shopping here in 1970s. Bought Runequest, my first Table Top RolePlaying Game here in 1980. Bought all my games and dice and models here. Always very helpful and knowledgeable. If I wanted something they would order it. They always had the best prices and service in the entire Sacramento area. Original owner Jessica is still there and gave great advice. Go there! .

Viking has been around for about 40 years. I remember when it first opened, but not the date
The shop is quite small, but has a very good selection of models and one of the best game selections in town.
A fun old fashioned hobby shop to visit.
