I wouldn't recommend anyone to go out of their way to visit this Toys"R"Us for anything besides a picture/nostalgia.

Don't expect the Toys"R"Us experience from your childhood. Imagine your typical "mall toy store" with Geoffrey and the Toys"R"Us logo here & there.

In terms of mall toy store, it's clean, inviting, seemingly helpful staff, and organized. The problem is, there's no prices on the toys. I guess, you're supposed to gamble on not being screwed too much at checkout.

In conclusion, great for a picture/nostalgia. Tell your friends you're in a Toys"R"Us in 2024 but your Target and Walmart have better value for toys.

Happy opening day!!! 🦒🪀🪁⚽
Staff are already killing it!! They were ready! Organizing as people messed things up lol. I have loved the store since I was a kid and I am so glad to see locations opening back up. 🥰

Time for an honest opinion... Yes it's fantastic that Toys R Us is back in business at local locations. Once I heard this I had to check it out. At this time, it's very underwhelming, not very much of a selection of toys in the same genre, ie Hot Wheels, Legos etc. But hopefully this is only the beginning as they rebuilding the legacy they once had.... Walmart, Target seem to have a better selection and pricing, I'll keep you posted....

I'm thrilled that Toys R Us has returned! That being said, I think they need to work on their toy selection. It's just not the same as it used to be. I'm hoping they'll get back to their old standards soon.

Visited this Toys R Us today for the first time and last time (March 2025)

I was extremely excited to see that there was a new Toys R Us in the area as all of the stores closed down several years ago and it is something that has been very important to me as a child.

1. The store is a lot smaller than what a regular Toys R Us would be a few years ago which was unfortunate but expected since it’s in a mall.
2. The store has a much more “modern” feel which I understand but also I feel like it is slightly unnecessary when everything else sucks.
3. The selection is very bad which is really surprising considering that Toys R Us stores always had the best selection, I get that it is a smaller space but even popular brands have like 3 products on the shelf.
4. The quality of some of the toys seems to be worse than other retailers? A good chunk of the Barbie dolls had very strange faces and extremely noticeable wonky eyes(factory rejects? cheaper versions?) DEFINITELY not the quality that a Toys R Us should have.
5. A lot of the products on the shelf were fairly old and they didn’t have a lot of newer items which is something that Toys R Us is definitely not known for (used to have all of the new toys before all other retailers)
6. Barely any workers in the store and the cashier was super rude and unfriendly for a primarily children’s store which I found strange.
7. Prices were higher than other stores which was strange considering that the selection was so bad.

Overall, if they are going to open up more Toys R Us stores like this please don’t. They aren’t anything like what Toys R Us should be, and are overall just a pathetic excuse for a Toys R Us or toy store for that matter. The higher prices, unfriendly employees could all MAYBE be overlooked if they had a good selection, good quality, and nice atmosphere, etc but they DEFINITELY don’t anymore. Sad that kids these days won’t be able to grow up the same way. I’ll personally stick to Target, Walmart, Amazon, and even Kohls as they all have a way better selection and friendlier workers/better prices.

10/26/24, I’m so happy that Toys R Us just returned as a stand alone store at the Harlem Irving Plaza in Norridge! They got a decent selection of Cars.

I was so excited to see a Toy R Us locally. I guess if you had never been to a Toys R Us before they closed you might like it. However, I was excited to go to a huge you store again, only to discover it was about the size of an old-school KB Toys. Better organized and nicer looking overall, but so small. The prices were not great either. I miss the real Toys R Us.

Just bought some toys from here for my kid and there were no prices on anything so once we checked out it was 80 something dollars and we compared the prices from Walmart and target and both toys combined were less than 40
