This is a very nicely stocked game store. Word games like Scrabble and Quiddler. Outdoor games and toys like Frisbee, Nerf Football, Ring Toss, and Hacky Sacks. RPGs like D&D 5E, Pathfinder/Starfinder, Star Wars, and the World of Darkness games. Miniatures and pain supplies. Card and Board Games like Catan, King of Tokyo, Exploding Kittens, and Talisman. Very well stocked indeed. They even have a large library of open games that you can play on their game tables for a small fee.

If I see a game store, it's a must go! This one was cute and nestled into the heart of downtown Folsom. Upon walking in you can see all the games are organized in terms of kind of game, ranging from two-player to multiplayer to kids to Brazil n busters. Went to the back of the shop and realized there were hundreds of games upon other games that you are able to sit and try out at some tables. Noticed an ad for a Dungeon Master for a DnD kids campaign over the summer.. wish I lived in town so I could apply! Best I could do was buy a few games, some brain teasers, and they have a nice collection of playing cards to choose from. I chose high quality Mandalorian ones....can't go wrong there! If you're a table top mater, a novice or just curious about the wonderful world of gaming...check this place out, there is something for everyone 🙂 Not sure about the Beagle or Bagel game...but definitely warranted a photo!

I live in another state. I was trying to track down a board game for my daughter, and The Game Getaway had one copy in stock. I gave them a call and they went out of their way to help a dad get his daughter's birthday present in time! Thank you!!!

As far as board game stores go this place has a really great selection of classics and new games. They also have a decent assortment of miniatures and other tabletop RPG items. Prices were normal, and they didn't have anything unusual, just the basics. As for the staff, I was pretty underwhelmed. Not super friendly or helpful, but maybe he was having a bad day. If you're looking for a new board game this is a good option, if you're in the market for TRPG, I'd say there's better options more focused on that.

The Game Getaway is a great local shop. They've got a great variety of board games, including a lot of the weird specialty games that you only see on "best of" boardgame geek lists. They also have an incredible collection that you can play in the shop (after paying a basic cover charge for the day), for when we're done quarantining. We went there for a friend's birthday party one year and had a great time trying out a bunch of games that we'd heard of but none of us owned. I really like this shop and an proud to have them in Folsom!

This place is so cool! Staff is always super helpful and selection is great. Wouldn't think that a local game shop would have such competitive prices on board games, but usually they're within just a few dollars of what you might find on Amazon. Tons of games to try and merchandise to browse. Always worth a stop if you're ever in Old Folsom.

This place great board game enthusiasts and common people alike. Great for kids,very attentive staff, competitive price, and a nice local board game shop. And a great thing that you can do is that if you pay 5$ you can stay there and play used games (keep in mind rules might change after this) but its a great idea and addition to this shop.
