I cannot overstate how friendly and helpful the employee was. He gave us great insight and advice as far as boardgames. We even purchased a commander magic the gathering deck that he put together himself.
Super welcoming and casual environment!

Great little store. Long Beach needed a game store and it's in a very convenient location. Their selection is a small, but they had some good titles. Hopefully they'll swap out some of the nic nacs for additional selection if the board game sales do well.

Games for Days, So Many Options. 😊
PROS: The selection of games for both children and adults is impressive, for the compact venue. With an entire wall of board games of all types, it's easy to get lost in possibilities and worlds. References to popular card games are sprinkled throughout, along with some children's toys and another wall of jigsaw puzzles. Various small items and trinkets with geek and nerd appeal are part of the mix. It's refreshing to have a local, humble, and diverse game shop in the area, among so many coffee and treat storefronts nearby.
CONS: As with any post about a business on 2nd St, the parking is really the only 'negative'. But that is the norm in this area of Long Beach, and shouldn't be a reason to not stop by. It's another place to stop during a fun stroll down Belmont Shore.

If you enjoy games or puzzles, you should certainly check this place out. 👍👍

Cameron was very welcoming and informative. I purchased some Lorcana and One piece packs along with the version of the board game "Sorry" that I now love (Sorry Rivals Edition). Very chill vibes. Thanks for the help.

We chose to support local instead of buying online & we were so happy we did. Great selection, friendly service, Pokémon card tournaments every Saturday. They gave our kids some Pokémon stickers & cards that they loved!

Really hurts to put it as 2 stars but for a store that seems to have a lot of board games they fail to own any actually worth while having a pretty decent TCG selection with about 2 tables in the back. I did go in to see their Warhammer stock, but was kinda disappointed in their lack of actual minis and more having starter sets (big boxes), decent paint selection though. I would recommend (then again what does my opinion matter right?) loading up on some war games (battle tech, hero quest, necromunda) they did have frostgrave so if you’re into that it’s there!

I popped in one day because I was stoked 2nd Street had a real game store. At first I was a little taken aback, because the front of the store seemed dominated by children's toys, buuuuuut past that were myriad board games, TTRPGs (like D&D), and card games. The back even has a play room with a window into/out of the store/counter. Pretty cool!

What's more is the woman I spoke with about card games--specifically Lorcana and Magic: The Gathering (as I haven't played Magic since 1995)--was both very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It's a great experience when you have genuinely helpful people working at a hobby shop, you know?

Anyway, I have since popped in now and then to crab a pack of cards and eyeball the wall of board games. (Maybe one day I'll host a game night, who knows?) Very recommended shop!
