Lots and lots and lots of books. The building doesn't look very large from the outside, maybe about the size of your average Half Price Books, but the shelves are PACKED and there are a lot of them jammed in here. If you're looking for fiction, this is the place to come. Thousands upon thousands of fiction, cook books, a large religion section, childrens books, everything. Whenever we come to a used book store like this, I always look at the automotive section in search of old shop manuals and normally I come up empty handed but The Book Market had more than I have ever seen. Unfortunately, none for my cars but you might get lucky!

This is my new favorite store. The first time I went, they didn’t have everything I was looking for but they had things I wasn’t looking for which is even better. I asked the wonderful woman that owns the place for a specific book and she went right over to the shelf and found it. How she knows where a specific book is in all those shelves is beyond me, but that’s part of its allure. Some people have commented on the piles of books or the prices, which isn’t entirely unfair. But I would rather spend my time and money in a place like this than any online or chain store. Stop by and check it out, you will thank me later. 5/5 for being the best bookstore in Joliet/Crest Hill!!

This place is bursting with books—literally overflowing into the aisles. Unfortunately, the cramped and chaotic setup makes browsing a chore, and the prices feel steep for used titles, especially when some are in pretty rough shape. If you’re just after quantity, you’ll find it here. Otherwise, you might want to look elsewhere for better deals and a less overwhelming shopping experience.

If you've ever wandered into an establishment like Barnes and Nobles or Books A Million and thought, "this is neat but I really wish I could be surrounded by stacks of books like Gandalf researching in Minas Tirith" then is this the place for you! The outside is admittedly unassuming, but held within is a treasure trove of books. Every last nook and cranny is packed. Nary a solitary empty space is to be found amongst the shelves, and books are stacked at the base. The walls are lined with them, and the register area is buried amongst a sea of stacked classics and literary works. Despite the image this conjures, everything is meticulously organized by author and genre. I was astonished to find entire rows of Crichton, Peretti, and Doctorow. My personal mission was to find the first few Pendergast series novels by Preston & Child, and was rewarded with nearly half of the anthology filling a shelf. If you love books, and wish to surround yourself with novels and tomes, you can do no better.

They have a wide assortment of books, but you may struggle to find what you want. The store is very poorly organized, and there are stacks of books everywhere. I think this place has the potential to be great! It just needs a good clean up.

This place feels like a portal to the 90s and I love it...they have a amazing variety of books, the only thing I say to becareful about is the price of the books, they are little pricey. But that may be because I bought ina garten cookbooks so I could be wrong about the pricey part. But all in all it's a great store to pop into and see what you find.

Was looking for one book; they had a copy and picked up 3 other titles on a whim.
Didn't look the whole place over but will stop in again.
