I’ve tried to do business with this place 3 times and been disappointed each time. I wanted to visit their rare books section but they informed me that section has different hours and no one could let me in even though they had several workers who weren’t busy. Another time I wanted to drop off books for trade in and they said I’d need an appointment - again at an establishment where the workers are plentiful and unhurried. Another time I wanted to buy a book but it was more money used than brand new - go figure. It’s a nice location and I wanted to do business with them but after 3 strikes, I’m out.

I don't come here often, but when I do I have a good experience. The Book Bin kind of reminds me of the library. I have great memories of being a child and going to the library to check out books. This brings me back to those memories. The vibe is definitely there.

Love this place. I've been several times and always find multiple books. The staff is kind and helpful. If you're lucky you might get to see the kitty.
I did hear the staff mention if you want to sell books an appointment is needed. You may want to call in advance to schedule.

It's an actually popular independent bookstore. With the domination of Barnes & Noble on Amazon I'm always happy to give my patronage to an independent bookstore Ivan when I'm out traveling the most commonly to this local store here in Salem. And as a broad selection very good prices very friendly staff and a store cat who is regularly on duty

I love this book store, they have a little bit of everything! Book Bin buys and sell books. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice place to walk around and find treasures.
They can get a little busy, so visiting early is best. They also have a store cat. This is purely a book store, so not much seating is available.

Our favorite bookstore since moving to Salem! Inclusive space with super cool staff and great community support. Great sections celebrating diversity and the prices are very reasonable for a locally owned bookstore. Bye-Bye Barnes and Noble, this is the only place we need!
