Great customer service. The employees we have interactive with have been very helpful. Mike the boot fitter in the ski shop in particular is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. His customer service is outstanding and makes the whole ski boot fitting sizing and purchase process great. This store treats their customers like family which is a much better vibe than the big box stores where the employees look like they are just going through the motions and not very helpful. My family and I are loyal Sports Basement customers because of their well trained employees and the level of customer service that you don't see anymore.

I have been away from skiing for 10 years and was in the market for a complete ski package. I was sure I would find the best deal online, but I wanted to talk to a live person and also try on boots before I purchased online.

I went to the Walnut Creek Sports Basement last Saturday and met one of the nicest, funniest, and most informative salesmen you could imagine. The half hour I spent with Tristan discussing my skiing level, budget, and expectations for potential equipment was indescribably helpful. Tristan listened carefully and showed me a few skis worth considering. All the while he took great pains to explain all the ski terminology, various options and the benefits of different features. The entire conversation felt more like talking with an old friend or a family member than a pushy salesman.

Since the store was closing for the day, I went home and did some research online. I returned to the Sports Basement on Sunday. I specifically wanted to try on ski boots prior to purchasing a pair blind online. I didn’t get his name, my bad, but I believe it was the manager of the department who assisted me. After sharing my ski level he measured my foot and brought out a pair of boots in a 30.5 MONDO that fit like a glove. After which I decided on a ski and binding. I also needed poles, goggles, and a helmet.

I worked up the cost for the package I was interested in at the Sports Basement and compared it to what I researched online the prior evening. To my surprise, the package, consisting of Rossignol Sender Soul 92 skis, Look XP11 bindings, Tecnica Blizzard Sport Mv 100 ski boots, Scott 540 Pro Black poles, and Smith Sport Optics Frontier Black Red Sol-X Mirror Lenses was lower than what I had researched online the previous evening. I purchased everything with the exception of a Giro Ratio MIPS helmet. The helmet was the only item I found online at a better price.

I would recommend the ski department at the Sports Basement in Walnut Creek to anyone in the market for ski equipment. I think you will find the people and the prices to be outstanding.

Great shop especially with the customer service for the bike department within the Walnut Creek store. Bought a new EMTB and came back a few times to get all the accessories. So far having a blast with this new hobby. Appreciate that they have a large service shop and can help with a lot of the upgrades and services.

I love this store. It's always our go-to spot for ski rentals every year! The staff is friendly, patient, and knowledgable, and gear is always well maintained. On top of that, the store is fantastic for all of your outdoor sporting goods needs. If you become a Basementeer, you get a better discount on already reasonably priced gear.

The guys at the Snow Sports rental counter were really helpful and patient. First full gear rental for the kids and the staff made it easy. In and out in under an hour with a full gear package for a 5 & 8 year old. 💪

Pretty awesome store to get outdoor gear. Stoked they do price matching with other stores like REI to get best price possible AND on top using a first responder discount. Wish they had this store in Nevada, I’d spend a pretty penny on things here.

The team in the ski and snowboard shop are amazing! Went to buy my first pair of boots and skis after years of renting, and the woman who helped us was incredibly knowledgeable and stuck with us through the whole process. I found some great gear. A huge thank you to them!
