Shroomy's Game Store - Glenmont, New York

I was visiting family in the area and stumbled upon this store. I found that they had a used 3DS game that my spouse was looking for at a reasonable price.

Previously, I had been a bit spooked from old 3DS games simply not working anymore (from two Gamestop stores), so I asked them what would happen if the game did not work, because I was not sure if I would be back for at least 3-4 weeks, which would normally be outside most stores' return policy duration. The owner told me to call the store as soon as I got home if the game didn't work, and they would work something out (like leaving a note in their files for my return visit). Fortunately, the game did work (and still does), but I am appreciative that the owner was flexible on this. I was totally not expecting the gesture!

The store itself is a clean and organized. Besides video games, they have a growing section for Magic the Gathering product and singles as well as Pokemon product and singles.

So, I will try to visit this place when I am in the area!

Edited to add: Evan has now assisted me three separate times helping me try to get to the bottom of one issue. They even offered to have me bring in the whole gaming system (that I didn't even purchase through them!) to help me troubleshoot. They truly go above and beyond for their customers.

Evan and Gary are great. I went in today and was greeted by friendly faces and tons of knowledge. Evan also offered to notify me when something I'm looking for comes in next! Great experience. Would absolutely recommend and I will definitely be returning for any future needs

Always super welcoming. After a few visits you feel like friends. If you add something to your wishlist they’ll call you when it’s in. Helped me find a handful of games I’ve been looking for and they’ll always give you a good recommendation on a game if your just looking for something new in a certain genre. Definitely one of the best stores in the capital region.
My only gripe is those damn stickers but that’s all stores.

Went there for the fist time over the past weekend. Had a tote of retro video games to sell. Staff was super awesome, even though he was alone, helped complete my purchase before getting to everyone else but also did not ignore the others either. Great selection of moderate to expensive retro games. Definitely a place to check out.

Friendly staff and clean shop. Was there to trade in. Right on par for a shop like this. About 25% for your stuff. Surprised we couldn’t make a deal, because their inventory was thin in my opinion. Sticker prices definitely on the higher side from what I noticed. Not sure if they offer rewards for buy, sell, trade. Probably won’t be back.

Came here today after finding the stores listing online, I needed a new game store to go to and Shroomy’s did not disappoint! When I walked in the staff was so welcoming and offered immediate help to what I was looking for. I was looking for some DS games and there selection was VAST! No matter what your gaming needs are they have something for you, I will definitely be coming back here time and time again, thank you!

Awesome! Nice shop with alot of titles from most every vintage system. Just grabbed a copy of Pokémon Trading Card Game and Twilight Princess today. The Pokémon TCG looks like new! I'll be back to continue replenishing my lost Pokémon games!

Great little game place, decent collection of used games and lots of little areas to play video, board, and card games. Stop in and check them out for sure!
