This is a brand new store, it's really open and they carry quite a huge selection of new goods, worth checking out. George the store manager assured me this is a community driven business. Currently do not welcome people from outside communities outside town of riverhead. People should stay far from this place if they are visiting from out east, they should shop at other places because we will push them away, as there is a serious issue rvpd is working with of heavy traffic violations from outside communities that drive through here. This location also was a huge saving for Riverhead Town using this location, support local community.

Normally I would give a better review.The store has great prices and deals every week.Store is clean, stocked and has a friendly crew. The deli department however is way understaffed.Waited 39 minutes for cold cuts to be sliced. Only one woman working at 6pm when people are coming in to shop after work.Several others working in the back but did not help her with the 6 people waiting. Poor management for what seems to be a large source of revenue daily. Get it together and HIRE some full time deli staff!!!

I love Shoprite and it is my go to grocery store. I assumed all locations are similar, however, that is not the case with the Riverhead location. The main issue is with the deli counter folks (2 woman) who were working were extremely rude on 9/2 at 4pm to not only myself, but another customer as well. They refused to acknowledge anyone waiting for service and continued to ignore the woman when she asked a question, not once, not twice, but 3 times in a row. I sat there waiting patiently saying nothing while they cut meats for nobody that was standing at the counter - I assume pre-orders? After both workers cut 3 bags worth each, I inquired to see if they could help me and they proceeded to ignore me. I was honestly shocked as I had waited 5 minutes without saying a word, and with nobody else around me, they simply refused to serve me. As I left this store, I was asked by homeless loitering outside if I could donate some money for them to buy food which I found to be uncomfortable.

I was there this morning at 6am and the sliding doors were locked,I check the exit door too and obviously it won't open from outside and finally somebody came out from the exit with "i dont wanna be here attitude" at 6:15 am after I waited for 15 min outside,I asked them why the doors still locked is supposed to be open at 6am and they said I have to get in from the exit door and I said i was there and I was knocking on the door but that door won't open from outside, finally I get in I get what I want and it took me 3 min then I had to wait at least 5 more min at the checkout bcz there was no single person at the checkout , thx them I'm late to work and I lost more than 20 min. I hope someone in charge see that review and make them open the door on time.

Shoprite used to be my preferred store. I was so excited when they first opened, but now I will never shop there again. They have horrible food control. I'm always finding expired items. The first time was when I bought a thing of "fresh" parmesan cheese, that was 3 weeks past the date. I bought it back for a refund and informed customer service that there was still 10+ on the shelf. When I went back a week later no one had pulled them!! Since then I constantly check dates, and it's horrible. I've found bacon, butter, milk, just so much past the date!! But my ultimate was last night. I bought a 6$ pizza, idk why I didn't think to check the date, I just didn't think to check a frozen item. IT EXPIRED FEBRUARY 2024!!! I'm disgusted, shame on you Shoprite. If this is the quality of the food on the shelves, I can only imagine the standards for the deli or meats. Never again

The managers of this shop rite are racist.
They would follow me around as if I was stealing something.
I did not feel comfortable shopping here.

On 2-5-24 at 7:23am had 2 employees at self check out standing there conversating, as I approached and asked for someone in customer service one walked away not even turning around waving her hand towards us and the other one at selfcheck out said there not there, when I asked for to get 9ne she walked away laughing, I had to go to the bakery department to get another employee to help me, as he walked to the front to help Shermaine the bookkeeper came up to help cause no one from customer service ice was in, the worker at selfcheck out began to laugh as I explained what happened and how rude and disrespectful the 2 employees were. Then tried to overtalk me and replied with "whatever" now Sherman's tired to defuse the situation but as I said I want there names, the store manager name and that I would be report this they thought it was funny.
I will be calling corporate on this, and I invite the store manager George to review the security footage as my way of seeing the events and there are always different but cameras don't lie.
Horrible customer service from them, and they were to busy hanging out talking then doing there jobs,

I have meet alot of great people at this store but these 2 need to dealt with.
