Excellent range with friendly and knowledgeable staff. They offer a great selection of firearms for rent, making it one of the few ranges where you can try before you buy. Highly recommended for anyone considering their first handgun—test it out on the range, and if you like it, you can purchase it directly from them. They also provide a variety of classes, including Range Safety Officer training and other courses for both handguns and long guns. A fantastic place for both beginners and experienced shooters!

I'm taking one star away because of pricing not necessarily of the range per se but of the store in the same facility. I've noted that pretty much all new guns are about $50 more than MSRP and that the used guns are even more expensive than new. Please note that once you start the gun buying process you will have a hard time to get out of the purchase after the 10 day wait period. This is understandable but still regrettable so please make sure you are certain of the gun you want to buy. There are other larger chains that would be easier for you if you change your mind if you don't mind driving a bit. I think that would be a better for a new gun owner.

Also note that you must buy at least one box of ammo from the range if you rent the gun there. You can read my original review below.

My go to range in the Bay Area and probably the only indoor range still available in the Bay Area.

I like Reed's because it's friendly towards beginners and it's actually located within the Bay Area and even though it's indoors it allows you to shoot buckshots which is extremely rare among all shooting ranges.

The price is fair at $20 per hour per person per lane and can be extremely crowded in the weekend. It's a good price if you are shooting alone but when you have 2 or more per lane it adds up.

The ammo pricing for the range is also fair and when they run sales on ammo it's actually not a bad deal.

There is also a gun store attached to the shooting range and it's not bad either. It's not the cheapest but they are knowledgeable and helpful.

Parking can be tricky but you can always find in the back around the corner except you'll have to walk with your gear.

I've been here 5 times now and haven't had a single bad experience. Friendly and helpful staff, good RSOs and decent prices (for the bay area). I don't really understand the bad reviews - just don't act like an idiot and you won't be treated like one.

I had a great experience at Reed's... sort of. Me and my buddies, all experienced shooters, decided to go to Reed's for the first time. We were having a great time, and decided to have a little accuracy competition. We weren't doing anything stupid, we just put the target out at different ranges and took turns firing two shots.

Here is where things went downhill. The range master walked over to us and started giving my buddy some tips. Then, without asking, he told my buddy to move and started shooting my gun. He then walked back to me and my other buddy and told us "I've seen you guys here all the time and you're always messing around." (It was our first time here!!) And then he said "quite frankly you guys are total garbage. Learn to shoot better and stop messing around." Again, we weren't messing around, being unsafe, mag dumping, etc.

We were pretty pissed off and decided to leave pretty soon after. He followed us to the cash register and checked us out. When he handed back my ID, he looked at me and asked, "So did you try to be better?" I don't know who spat in this guy's cereal that morning, but it was totally uncalled for and incredibly rude. I've been to a lot of ranges, been shooting my whole life, and am very safe when I go to the range. He was way out of line. Safe to say I'll never be going back to Reed's again.

First off this place is honestly such a run down range compared to the other places I’ve been too. The targets don’t even stay on the hangars cause they’re so old and rusted. Not to mention the attitude of some of these employees. You would think that someone put a gun too their head to come into to work that day the way they treat customers like they have a million other things they’d rather be doing. The Indian dude who works the night shifts is chill and so are most of the guys that work later in the day but the morning staff just straight up sucks. It’s like they don’t want people to shoot or get better. I am at a range to practice so how am I supposed to do that when the employee comes by every 2 mags to tell me and my friend were missing shots and they’re going over the target. Tells me and buddy we need to move the target closer. Whatever cool, except the guy next too us let his daughter shoot the roof multiple times and we saw the dust falling from the roof. Just ridiculous honestly I miss a couple shots with the target as far back as possible and I get told off but the girl next to me can hit the ceiling and not even get a warning. Don’t go here, don't let people who can’t even keep the same standards for everyone talk to you in a condescending tone like they’re not just minimum wage workers at a run down range.

Haven't met a group of people more apathetic and uninterested to work at a gun store in my life. I'm not the type to police how someone speaks but if you're in a building where gunshots are being fired in another room maybe don't mumble your words and then give me attitude when I can't hear you.

Range itself is decent enough, clips are old and rusted for hanging targets but they work. Rules seems to kinda hit or miss like other reviewers say, half the time they care, the other half Johnny 30 round glock is magdumping into a target without a single second between shots.

First time shooting here , quick process but you do need own a gun to rent and it’s by hour . Different guns can be rented and can bring your own bullets but they have strict regulations on what type of bullets. Definitely a place to perfect your aim or be instructed

Friendly and helpful staff and easy to get a lane. First come first served basis. They also rent guns to shoot. Targets are reasonable, but ammo is on the pricey side.
