Prescott House ADK

We stayed for 2 nights in a queen room with a private bathroom. The host was very friendly, the place was spotless, and the location can't be beat. It's a neat place to stay and something different than a hotel or air bnb. It was a big weekend with the opening of the Ice Palace and they didn't jack their rates up crazy like the other places in town so we were thankful for that. Will be back to stay again for sure

I've spent 5 nights in room 209 (Mount Jo) on the second floor. It's a clean and spacious room with a comfortable bed. There is plenty of space and hangers to hang up your clothes. The room has its own small fridge and microwave. The TV was hit or miss, for some reason, and I could never tell why it worked or not. Not an issue for me, but might be for others. There is no A/C, but a fan is provided. There are plenty of outlets to charge all your devices. The Wifi worked perfectly well throughout the property. There are a number of showers and toilets on every floor, and these were kept clean during my stay. It takes a while for the hot water to heat up, but you are forewarned on the house rules sheet. Location is great. Everything is within walking distance or a short drive away. Plenty of hikes are less than 30 minutes away. Common areas are quite clean, though the kitchen could have been cleaner. Loved the décor. Prescott House is a quiet and peaceful place. Will be back!

I've stayed here more than once and I love it! It's super quiet and clean, and has a huge kitchen that you can use. It has such charm, so unique. Deer walk around the property during the day and night . I would totally recommend staying here!

You really can't beat this stay for the price, especially in an area where rates can soar well above what's expected. Our room was very clean and comfy. Even though we shared a bathroom with the floor, there was never anyone in there at the same time I was. Just keep in mind there is no air conditioning in the summer. Not a problem for those used to it, just people like me from the south who aren't. And there was an odd smell to our room. Not terribly strong, but something I attributed to it once being a hospital. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and was so grateful to find this place! Also, such a cool history. Glad it's being preserved and put to good use in the community.

Stayed at the Prescott house for 4 days last week and had a fabulous time. It was superbly clean including the shared bathrooms and kitchen. The atmosphere is quiet so sleep is uninterrupted. It is wonderfully located within a short walk to the town, Moody pond and Bakers peak. Kelowna is a wonderful host and very knowledgeable about the area, history and climbing. The town of Saranac Lake is full of history. Make sure that you take some time to explore the museums. Good food in the area. Highly recommend staying at the Prescott house. Very good value!!

Stayed for one night this past weekend. Kelowna, the host was friendly and very gracious. She gave us a tour of this beautiful house, (an old TB sanitorium) showing how she's renovating. We had the Moody Pond room on the third floor, that had a small refrigerator and microwave and a very comfortable queen sized bed. The bathroom next to the room was spacious and very clean. The price is extremely reasonable. In the basement is a full kitchen with gas stove, electric kettle, toaster oven and utensils, a large dining room table and the pool table and laundry is also down there. This would be a great place for a group of hikers to stay. There are two lounge rooms, and porches to relax in. There is a real community atmosphere at this place. I loved staying here, and will most definitely be back.

This is a beautiful historic inn that is clean and quiet. Our host Kelowna was so helpful and welcoming! Thanks for everything!! We loved sitting on the comfy chairs on the large porch on the 2nd floor. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed climbing Mt. Baker which is a 10 minute walk from the property . As well the town of Saranac is in walking distance and Lake Flower for swimming or kayaking is nearby . We enjoyed beautiful cycling right from the property! Amazing place to enjoy everything the area has to offer!

Nice place, great host. The kitchen was down in the basement which was odd but I didn't need it and they set out a good assortment of food for guests. Very clean rooms, smelled great, but most rooms share the bathroom. Tiniest stand up shower I've ever seen. I'm 5' 2" and 120 pounds, I don't know how anyone bigger would fit. They don't allow kids though, which is not said straight up in the Airbnb app I used, apparently had to dig around in the rules. I understand that they don't want kids running around a historic building, but my 50 pound, eight year old daughter (not a runner) isn't putting any more wear and tear than the average American would. She was accomodating and let us stay since I was there already there so I was appreciative, but we definitely whispered our way around.
