Frankly speaking, unless there is a specific exhibition you’re interested, it is NOT worth a visit. I used to live in Tempe and had a few visits yearly, and I had another visit May 2025 after 10 years. The Southwestern US work section was very interesting, but now the section was no longer a highlight. Lots of contemporary work changed the tastes as well. The modern and contemporary section used to be much more interesting. For this time, there is no risk to call half of them high-end trash. What bothered me the most was how the pieces are organized and curated. It was hard to find a clue. The description of each work were not very informative. It doesn’t tell in which town and when the artist was born or dead (for non-living artists). If you’d really like to go, check their free time slot.

Such an amazing Art Museum! I had a few hours to kill before my flight back home and decided to check it out. Free Parking! Very interesting exhibits and Art work. Somewhat of a larger facility, well laid out. I had a lot of fun exploring and will go on my next time back in PHX.

I had a wonderful time visiting the Phoenix Art Museum on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We were visiting from Los Angeles and I went specifically to view the Richard Avedon collection of photographs but was pleasantly surprised to also see an exhibition of fashion designer, Ana Sui’s collection. I love modern art and also enjoyed the museum’s permanent collection. There is a nice mix of paintings, installation art, videos and sculptures, professionally displayed in a beautiful modern building. The museum is just the right size to enjoy, even if you only have couple of hours. As with most museums, a cafe and gift shop are also on the premises.

Absolutely amazing! We arrived just in time to catch a docent guided tour for about an hour. It was a museum highlights where she picked some of her favourite pieces and went in depth about why they were special. The temporary exhibits were just as fun! We spent a few hours here and even went back to our favourite rooms a couple of times!

Great mix of exhibits ranging from different areas and types of art. Nice size gift shop. I did not find the food area/ cafe so can't comment on that. There was a private event going on so I couldn't explore the sculpture garden. Over all well taken care of and pleasant staff.

I wish I could give more stars! I went there with my class for a field trip. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. Lesley was so nice and had some amazing information about the museum. Even the security guards talked to us about the art. All the art was beautifully presented and organized so well.

This is a nice facility. We came for the firefly exhibit. I have no use for 80% of the art in the building but I was very happy to see the art on the second floor. These displays included art from Asia, Europe, American west, and a miniatures display. I prefer photo real portraits and landscapes. The miniatures were also interesting.
