We were introduced to them through a friend and decided to finally frame 3 pieces we had been waiting to frame for a while, and we're glad we went with Micah and his team because the results are stunning! I’m about to hang three pieces I ordered from Orion and I’m thrilled! I took in a pamphlet, an art print, and one of my daughter’s crinkly art papers from preschool. They delicately handled each piece and walked me through each framing component so I could get exactly what I envisioned.

Their frame options are vast, spanning from traditional to funky (see the amazing blue frame for my daughter’s painting) to traditional and funky (see the wavy wood frame in the last photo - I need something framed with this!)

Everyone I interacted with on the staff was so knowledgeable and friendly.

As a last random note, I’ve lived all over the world and had things framed at each spot. Orion, like others have noted, is a real gem, top-of-the-class in my opinion. We’re lucky to have such a spot nearby and I will be supporting them with my future framing needs, no questions.

I've had three very different pieces framed in three very different ways, and they all feel like me. Yet, they are choices I never would have confidently made without Micah's expertise and genuine love for bringing things to life.

I brought in my first "grown up" piece of art - a 1940-50s oil paint on paper modernist abstract painting by Bay Area painter Calvin Anderson - the piece held a lot of meaning to me because it was my first foray into the medium, but I no idea what to do with it—or how to preserve the piece itself. Micah did. What I walked out with was perfection. The frame and woodwork is so stunning, but doesn't overpower the abstract piece itself.

Another piece was an AP from a graffiti artist's UFO, which was a departure from my usual style but incredibly intriguing. Micah knew I was hesitant about how to bring that piece to life while also not feel foreign to me or my personal style. He blended my style with a subtle, yet super interesting mounting and frame material. I walk by it every day and don't see a piece I wouldnt normally own, I walk by it and love it because while it is still art that I normally wouldn't own—I can't imagine my home without.

Lastly, an archive print of a very sentimental black and white photo of The Beastie Boys from a 90s Spin Magazine cover shoot brought me to tears when revealed in their studio. Good tears - ha.

Orion Custom Framing is more than just a small business or framing studio; it's an experience.

I have used a number of framing folks before, and when I went to go re-visit one of them (who has since closed for business) was pointed to Micah and the folks at Orion. Got the same recommendation from a number of fine art friends, so glad I listened to their recommendation.

I brought in some incredibly cool large photographic prints and got excellent collaboration in finding a good frame, selecting a good matting color and width, and communicative during the framing process. I was thankfully not in a rush, so asked them to take their time.

The price was above what I had hoped for, but when I received my final product, totally understood the value provided. Easily recommend anyone with quality framing needs give them business.

I came to have some prized concert posters framed for myself and a friend. The staff were amazing. Friendly, informative, and zero pressure or pushing sales tactics.

They patiently helped me select the right frame, background, and glass for my art and provided design consultation. I appreciated the balance of providing their expert opinion while trying to respect what I wanted to feel when I looked at
the end product.

After a few weeks, my friend and I received prized framed art that we’re proud to display at home. Pricing and timelines were transparent throughout the process.

The owner is very kind. You can feel the passion for his craft through the whole process. The staff are also communicative after your order is placed.

As an unfamiliar first-timer to custom framing, cost was surprisingly high:expect to pay 3-600 dollars to frame a medium sized poster with the exact materials you choose. That being said - this is not a run of the mill Michael’s job.

After experiencing the care that goes into each step of the process, I can say it was definitely worth it. This was a bespoke experience and the folks here put a lot of care into their craft. Think of it like getting a fully-tailored suit or dress with respect to how you want to feel on your big day.
