Best prices, prompt communication via email after ordering online, online platform is easy to use and the $0 deposit for preorders is very convenient! Owner was friendly and welcoming when I went to pick my order up in person. Highly recommended for your model train needs!

I was looking for a N scale Broadway Limited SD70ACe when I came across this store. They have theirs for $197 (MSRP is $247), which is a pretty good deal. I ordered it, got an email confirming the order, and I waited for it to be shipped. This was on 1-18-25

A week went by, still not shipped. I got concerned and I looked online for reviews about this store, which is what I should've done the first time. Even though most are positive reviews, the ones that are negative were the most concerning. Most are saying that they never got their order that they've paid for.

After seeing these reviews, I sent an email on 1-24-25 asking if I could get an update on my order. They replied in under an hour, stating they were busy with "a massive influx of large O scale orders" and would send a tracking link once they ship it next week. One thing I find sketch about this is that they stated to me that they had a large amount of orders, while in a recent reply to a negative review they state "I've been out of town on the evacuations for the wild fires".

Since other people are having issues with this store, I do not want to wait around for an order that will most likely never come. I sent an email to them requesting a refund on 1-26-25. I'll update once I get refunded.

I placed two orders a week apart on 4/19 and 4/28, the in-stock portion of the first was fulfilled and communication was great when one detail part was out of stock. I went with the option of having it shipped when fulfilled, but nothing has shown up yet. The other part of the order was fulfilled directly by the supplier, Fusion Scale Decals, without issues.

The second order never moved passed being confirmed, and I have been unable to get a response to emails after over a month. I understand that the owner is going through health issues, but maybe temporarily pausing online orders would be a good idea until they can be fulfilled in a timely manner. Wish I'd read the other Google reviews before ordering, they seem to be true unfortunately.

Update 12/12/24
Despite the owner's reply, no refund was ever received on the card used to place the order and no response was received to my last email. At this point it's not worth pursuing, but I could not recommend ordering online from them.

My wife ordered a model locomotive I've always wanted for Christmas. It came earlier than expected and seems to work flawlessly! (Their communication with her with questions about the product was quick and thorough) I hope to use Orange Empire again!

I model HO scale. The only two brands of locomotives I have are Scale Trains and Athearn.
You can go mostly anywhere for Athearn but not a lot of places work on scale trains in Southern California unfortunately. You have to ship it back to Scale Trains and what not, and maybe you don't want to do that. That's where Orange Empire comes in. Justin (the owner) is a really cool guy. Yea he is hard to get a hold of but he is down to earth and amazing guy and the service he provides is fantastic.
Marc is the one who worked on my Scale Trains and he did an above and amazing job. He fixed why my ditch lights weren't working on my law enforcement unit and he fixed my burn out ditch lights on my 911 locomotive.
There has been word on this place being bad and not to come here or have any business with them.
But so far, those rumors are just lies.
If you have any scale trains locomotives that need work, bring them.

Tiny little nook in a non-descript old office building. I brought in old N gauge cars and sets that Dad had left to me which had been under the bed for 10 years. They spent 15-20 minutes appraising, gave me a fair amount of cash. They directed me to take my most valuable piece (brass, HOn) to a specific shop in Pasadena that specializes in brass, to get a better price. Thanks!

I was first introduced to Justin and OEMR soon after he opened up. I was new to N scale, and Justin and his crew have been nothing short of amazing, helping me with information and ideas. I have had these guys go over all my motive power to bring it up to fresh, and unlike some people, have no complaints whatsoever. They have done such a wonderful job.
