This area has a magical energy. It is both serene as it is suddenly powerful. It has a magnetic field. The Dunes are exquisite, naturally landscaped by wind, sea and the wildlife that lives within its beauty. The sand is incredibly soft underfoot. The Oceano Dunes is a perfect place to lie under the sky and just listen to the sound of the ocean waves and seagulls. Many come at night, have bonfires, play guitars and relax within the comfort of the tranquil environment.

We rented atv for an hour. It was fun. They take you through shuttle to the atv area from the beach. Must try once.

I am in a Honda Civic and I was able to cross the creek to get to the camping side. I did get stuck in soft sand, but someone quickly helped me out. I would totally camp there again!!

Awesome, however the company we rented a UTV wasn't in the best of condition. It was missing the rubber protectors that are supposed to be covering the metal frame for the back of the front seats. The suspension was horrible. My chin was bruised the metal frame broke my skin. I didn't know that during the inspection to look for this so make sure you fully inspect if you plan on renting any ATV or UTV. Also check the gas cap ours was not screwed on correctly and was loose and gas was leaking. The UTV did break down but was brought out a replacement we were able to have another one for the time we were stranded about 35 min. This one was in much better condition the suspension was a lot better than the one that broke down. The price was exceptionally expensive for an older model. We had a blast regardless of the inconvenience of being stranded, we had a blast.... it was a beautiful day on the dunes at the beach

The first time we came here we were staying nearby on a road trip from Northern California to Southern California. We decided to take the Jeep into the dunes and have some fun for a day. It was a blast.

And you can camp on the dunes and on the beach. So the next time we came, we brought an old tent trailer and camped on the beach. What a wonderful experience. So relaxing! So beautiful! It was a lot of fun.

5$, great experience and treat to your car if it can handle. Don’t stay late as you might misjudge the safe path and land on soft sand.

Staying here with my fam for the week, so far it's been amazing, everyone we've met has been polite and has even helped us get our truck unstuck. The sunsets are to die for and the dunes are a ton of fun if you know what you're doing!
