If you had told me a few months ago I’d be writing a glowing, out-of-this-world review for a mechanic shop, I would’ve laughed. In my 32 years of life, I’ve dealt with more “meh” mechanics than I can count — the kind that leave you guessing, overspending, and second-guessing everything. North Mountain Auto completely flipped that narrative.

A few months back, they performed a thorough and completely free inspection on my car — and I’m talking next-level thorough, with detailed photos and clear explanations. No pressure, no upselling, just honest, expert service.

Fast forward to this week: my car broke down unexpectedly right after I picked up my toddler from school. I had it towed and—thankfully—got it over to North Mountain Auto instead of settling for the overpriced shop nearby. They took it in quickly, looked at it sooner than expected, gave me a reasonable quote, and had it fixed up before I even finished stressing. I had rented a car for the week not knowing how long it would take, and thanks to them, I was able to return it early and save $200. That’s unheard of.

This team is knowledgeable, kind, transparent, and FAST. I’m officially a customer for life, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Mechanics like this do exist — and they’re at North Mountain Auto.

This shop was an incredible first experience. I was visiting my mom in az and I'm from California and I thought I was having a small problem with my cars steering so I found all the good reviews about this place on my Google search and took my car in. I needed new cv axles, suspension, control arms, and tie rod ends for my steering and I had no idea until Julian(the manager I'm assuming) sent me a complete full report with pictures of what was wrong and accurate descriptions next to them and showing the priority and importance of what to fix now and what can be fixed a bit later on.

The time frame of getting it all done was reasonable and they kept me updated all the time and had respectful and honest communication.

My car has been great since I picked it up. 10/10 would definitely come back again if any other repairs were needed for my car. I'm so used to all shitty and dishonest mechanics in California, I was amazed by the incredible service and hard work that is put in at this shop and I highly recommend if anyone needs repairs that's local, go to this shop, they will take care of you and your car.

I usually work on my own vehicles, but sometimes I’m too busy or the job is more than I want to deal with. I found North Mountain Auto Repair and they’ve been great. Honest, fast, and very clear about everything they do. I’ve even started bringing my parents’ cars here. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a trustworthy shop.

I've taken my truck here a few times now.

I initially got it inspected here to make sure everything looked good before purchasing.

I've had my oil changed, 90k service done, an alignment, a drive belt, and a pulley replaced.

The price is extremely competitive each time. The turn around is very quick. As far as I can tell the work is quality.

My pulley failed causing a recently replaced belt to snap prematurely. They fixed the pulley and warranty replaced the belt without hassle. They could have told me the belt failure was not their fault and they wouldn't warranty it, however they took care of me.

These are professional, friendly, honest guys and I won't go anywhere else if I can help it.

They also call you complimentary Lyfts to and from (there might be a distance cap on this. I don't live far.)

Very pleased with the professionalism and technical knowledge of this shop. The service tech Julian walked me through detailed line items regarding my repair for an engine misfire. They updated me on every step along the way from diagnosis to completion. Highly recommend them for any vehicle.

I had an oil change, we take all our vehicles here, they are great. Always inform you of upcoming maintenance and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are very reasonable. I needed a warranty issue completed that required diagnostics through the dealer, however, I would have much preferred bringing it to North Mountain.
I'll be bringing my mom's car here at the next oil change.

This was my experience. Speaking with Ken was a plus, I felt really confident in bringing my vehicle there. He told me how much it would cost and I was okay with that. Before I went there I took photos of my engine etc Because, I had a hunch that something would be taken off my car since everything on there was original and still in good shape. When I was there I spoke with a different guy who gave me a different price, I said Ken told me something cheaper, so I was about to walk out. “Which I should have!” I paid $350. When I returned about an hour and 15 minutes later they were about to close but while there. There was another vehicle sitting in their garage exactly like mine with the hood up. I believe they took something from my vehicle and put it on that one. So I drove off and my car was driving worse than before. I looked back under my hood and can tell nothing was moved or taken off. I will never go back here again. But Ken was nice over the phone.
