Small but nice shop, I visited on 12/18/24. Despite its size though it was lively, there was a group of people playing a game towards the back of the shop which is always cool to see. I'm still pretty new to collecting Pokemon cards (haven't bought cards since I was a kid lol) and the shop owner was very helpful and informative, even told me about the new series of cards coming out. All in all it was a cool place and I'll definitely be coming back here!

I've shown up to several games in the Sacramento area that just shrug their shoulders when not enough people show up for a tournament. But Nine8 employees will fill in when there are not enough players so you can get some games in, and the players get the prize. Definitely go here if you don't want to risk wasting your time.

Clean layout and good selection of comics. Absolutely loved how the comics were displayed, which was spread out instead of on top of each other, and I loved the boxes that you walk in and find yourself looking through. Would come again, cheers!

Called ahead to see if they might be interested in some Pokemon and anime figurines that I had. They said to bring them in and they would take a look..
(I had several totes of the Pokemon and anime)

Brought them in and after a few seconds of glancing over my items, they tell me they weren't interested. They would only be interested in certain items. I had the certain items they were looking for. Had they taken 1 min to look at them, they would have seen them in there.

Drove 30+ mins out of my way to come to Nine8. I was the only customer in there and arrived well before closing. I would have appreciated better customer service instead of a wasted trip..

Came in the other day too check out the stock. Owners and staff are very nice. Ilike the environment. 3 star is mainly because of pricing is inflated. I think as a consumer or a new player who wants to get into card games, 8 dollar Ultra pros is wild. I'd say call in advance for pricing before you make you way in. Sad to say this but I ended buying my stuff at target.

This was a nice shop. It had 4 tables to play on, super clean, and had a little bit of everything. I went in specifically for pokemon cards but they answered my questions about magic the gathering very well and informatively. They had a case of singles pokemon cards and the rest of their bulk singles are purchased through their website and they'll put together your order for you rather quickly. Based on my experience, their bulk had a lot of variation but there wasn't many of it (a limited supply).

TLDR; small space, limited stock, but they have something for everyone 🙂

Great experiences all around here, recently found out about them and just got back into magic after decades. The staff is very helpful and willing to answer questions I had about specific sets and even explain mechanics in commander decks that I was unclear on before purchasing. Makes me feel welcome in the hobby after my long hiatus.
Will be my first stop whenever I go out to buy from now on.
