This is a great church for both extremes, dress up or don't. Normally a laid back and welcoming atmosphere. The parochial vicar is a good vicar. Very correct in manner and speech. A bit too politically inclined. And tends to be fire and brimstone regarding any political ideals that differ from his own. Perhaps not the best way to either keep or obtain parishioners.

My kids age 7 an 8 attend summer camp at Newman. On both occassions the kids stated they enjoyed the program and interaction with the staff members. The program is Catholic centered and taught in a way which is entertaining to my kids. The staff is good about keeping parents informed about what is going on and being safety conscious. Will return next year for camp.

Fr Manno did the Mass & Homily. He was very exciting & energetic. The 4:30 children's mass was great, there were instruments, and lots of vocal accompaniment from the choir made up of a mixture of adults & young people. It really started Christmas off in a wonderful & spiritual way.

The youth ministry here for college students is outstanding. The pastor is a very young man who came from Northern Illinois University any student looking for direction and Faith formation should definitely visit this church

Attend every week, 30 minute drive on. Interstate but worth it. I really feel like I have gone to church. What better recommendation!
