Monterey General Store had a big variety of different things from Monterey souvenirs to about all Pokémon plushies and anime figures. Everything is reasonably priced as well (on the cheaper side, though the quality of the items had exceeded my expectations!), the owner was very welcoming as well. I definitely recommend coming by and supporting this small business!

We went in after I saw beautiful My Melody and Kuromi plushies in the window. They have really affordable prices and I can't wait to go back once we're in the area again! The plushies are so soft and the prices are great considering they're Sanrio. They also have pokemon, BT21, and other character plushies.

I Love this toy store for inexpensive Monterey souvenirs and Sanrio Hello Kitty, Sonic, Pokémon merchandise ! They also have earrings, socks, and cute trinkets ! A must for any tourist to check out!

This place it's awesome. planning to bring something back to remember with out spending a lot this the place. Theirs always something on sale and their prices are way cheaper then the rest.

Was there with my grandchildren yesterday and the woman at the checkstand was very rude. My grandchild wanted to pay for the item with his money and she was very rude to him. I watched her carefully because she took his money and left the checkstand to go to a smaller room and then came back and gave him his change in a weird manner - he asked her a question and she was very rude to him and made a dismissive comment about him to me. The store was not busy, we were the only customers at the time. After we left and got in our car, I saw that the item he purchased was torn (a stuffed toy) at the seam. I decided to fix it myself instead of returning. I see others have experienced rude treatment also. I would not recommend shopping here. I think that you should keep a close eye on how they treat younger customers and whether they give correct change.

I was in town and found this store near our hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. The items I purchased weren't overpriced and the two gentlemen working were very friendly and helpful. My daughter's and I found some nice things.

This is our first souvenir stop so the kids can see what General Store for what price!They have the best prices on Mexican blankets and ponchos, kids shark tooth & other jewelry, stuffed animals, ball caps, etc! Monterey General Store is a block off the main street, but worth the short walk! This is The Place to bring your kids for their souvenirs!!!
