Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center

Located right on Main St as you roll into town, this place is a MUST stop before committing to any activity. The Rangers are incredibly informative, friendly, and can give you valuable up to the minute information to help keep you safe and make wise decisions before you head out there! You can also obtain a permit right there in the lobby. That's if there's one available for your trail preference. If not, you're in the right place to discuss options.. as they're fantastic references for you here! You can easily spend over an hour here browsing, and you should, as you'll find such value for your time. Highly recommend, and they were so helpful.

Awesome experience visiting Mammoth Lakes for the very first time. We went to the visitor center where the staff gave us recommendations on hiking paths and beautiful areas/ lakes to check out while on our stay. The staff was overly friendly and very knowledgeable of the area! Absolutely loved our time spent here in Mammoth! Such an amazing area to hike and poke around on an adventure!

While there is hiking and biking available you can still go up the gondola and find snow. There are frequent siting of bear and dear right on the road. You can see them in the photos

Nice people in the visitor center and professional. Nice gift shop too. Mammoth lake is very beautiful area I highly recommend to visit that place and spend some time. The village is also nice you will find shops and restaurants. Prices are quite high but the area is wonderful. I highly recommend it. Take some time to walk around the forest and do some trails. Enjoy!

Extremely nice and helpful staff, they were very clear to explain different trails and options to explore in the given time I had left.

Great selection of nature study guides, books, and souvenirs. The staff spent a long time helping us decide on hikes and places to visit for our family as well as what areas are closed or open this season. They taught our kids about some of the volcanic history of the region and shared some really interesting local stories.

Great place to stop and get info on the area. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and they have the cleanest public restroom. Would recommend stopping bye and chatting with the staff. Keep up the good work.
