We visit Big Bear every Thanksgiving week and look forward to popping in Makayla’s each time we’re in town to do some shopping. They do have really cute things. After it being closed the first couple days of our visit even though it was during open hours, we finally got to go in and shop. My 10 year old daughter, baby girl and I were shopping and I was super disappointed the way we were treated. I have bought items from this boutique every year that I’ve visited and planned to do the same this time around but was treated as a thief. I’m a slow shopper and like to look around, I looked at a lot of things (most don’t have prices on them so I was trying to figure that out as well) and was being watched and questioned as though I was doing something wrong. My husband and boys came by so I asked what time they’d be open til so I could come back after we got coffee and was told she was already closing at 3:30 but when walking by later that was not the case so clearly I just wasn’t wanted in the store. I try to shop small but treating your customers like they are criminals isn’t going to do your business any favors and has made me not want to return.
