We were very excited to visit the Lincoln Douglas, Debate museum and we were not disappointed. The museum is very nicely spread out. It was a self guided tour. It was very clean on the inside and the outside. It was very easy access in and out of the museum, there’s also bathrooms on the outside of the museum. Make sure you look it sits inside of the fairground so that you don’t miss it.

Kind of a joke. The movie is nice. That’s about it. Looks better externally than what’s inside. This pseudo museum was promoted to be something that would draw in tourism from far and wide. Another epic fail for Charleston. If you want to visit a Lincoln museum with actual artifacts visit the museum in Springfield, IL.

Great little museum! It's self-guided and volunteers may or may not be there for the gift shop. Very interactive as well.

Manage your expectations. This is memorial to the 4th of the 7 famous debates, the one that drew only the 2nd largest crowd--albeit a healthy 15000 or so. Still it does a good job of conveying the tension of the times and showing how Lincoln may have lost his race for the Senate but laid the way for his successful presidential run two years later.
