The In Kidz kits have good intentions but are cheaply put together and the “curation” seems so arbitrary. It seems like the activities they pick to represent each country are chosen based upon what throw-away items they can find on Oriental Trading. One of the boxes literally still had the “Oriental Trading” logos on the “cultural items”. The props and activities border on stereotypes and do a pretty poor job of distilling a whole country’s culture down into a few token toys (hacky sack for Jamaica, white chef’s hat for Italy, etc.) Just poorly executed, despite good intentions.

Imagine a curated box representing Germany has hidden swastika symbols. Not okay, right? Why would the box representing turkey have the ultranationalist symbol of the Grey wolves, a known terroriat organization, in a children's toy box? No place for hate. Do better.
