An unforgettable experience at High Falls Gorge in Lake Placid! My girlfriend and I visited about a month ago during our winter vacation, and it was nothing short of magical. The snow-covered trails and the snowflakes falling around us created a truly unforgettable atmosphere. The waterfalls, partially frozen, were absolutely stunning — with ice formations hanging from the rocks. It felt like a winter wonderland, and the peaceful, quiet beauty of the place made it even more special. We loved exploring the area, taking in the breathtaking sights, and snapping some beautiful photos. If you're ever in Lake Placid, especially in the winter, don’t miss out on this hidden gem. A perfect combination of nature, tranquility, and winter magic! Highly suggest!

This is a Lake Placid "must-do". We've been to Lake Placid about 5 times in the past 7 years and we always go for a "hike" here (more like a walk). They have stairs and wooden walkways along the gorge and have beautiful views of the waterfall and river. It's even more spectacular in the winter. They supply you with crampons, little rubber & metal covers for the bottom of your boots/shoes to add traction so you won't slip on any ice. Make sure you dress warm, and definitely consider boots in the winter as you walk through snow before getting to the wooden platforms. Please note that they will close if the wind is too strong (we had to come back the next day as the first day we were in town, the wind was crazy - safety first)

High Falls Gorge is such a beautiful place. We're so glad we took a detour after seeing the sign. The scenery is amazing and peaceful. The trails are easy to walk, with nice bridges and paths over the rushing water. We absolutely loved this spot. Thank you! We’ll definitely come back, and we highly recommend everyone visit to see this beauty.

High Falls Gorge is a beautiful spot to visit,

especially if you’re a fan of waterfalls and nature walks. The views are stunning, and the trails are really well-maintained with some great lookout points. That being said, the park itself is a bit smaller than I expected, it doesn’t take long to get through the entire trail and also a part of the trail near the waterfall was closed unfortunately. Still, it’s worth the trip if you’re in the area, just don’t plan on spending more than an hour or so here.

The map said that it was very busy at the time I wanted to go. I was going to NOT stop because of this, but I am glad I changed my mind. It is a beautiful walk, super easy, and the trails were well maintained. Part of the walkway was under construction, but it was still worth the stop. It wasn’t too busy on the trails.

If you are in the area of ​​Lake Placid, have a free hour and want to go for a walk, this will be a good choice. Remember that this is a commercial place and don't expect to go hiking. You can take a lot of pictures, the place is well-kept, there is still construction going on there. Check for yourself if it's worth the 17 bucks.

Simply beautiful. The High Falls Gorge is gorgeous! They are doing some renovations but most of the walkway is still accessible. Nice café inside as well that you can rest at while enjoying the view.
