Just got a new pair of grips for my bike and loved the stuff. Customer service is perfect and they put my new grips on my bike without any extra charge. And prices are very normal for this area. Not too expensive. Everybody smiles here. I'm very happy overall

Avoid this place for bike repairs—completely incompetent.

I’ve given this shop two chances over the last two years, and both times they’ve messed things up worse than when I came in.

First visit: Needed a tire replaced due to a small tear. The mechanic argued it wasn’t necessary, then suddenly changed his mind. Insisted I needed a new tube because reusing the old one was “bad practice.” Fine. I paid $75. When I got the bike back, the tire had a huge bulge. I pointed it out, and the guy shrugged and said, “Yeah, that happens sometimes.” Seriously? Only after I pressed him did he replace it—this time keeping the original tube, which he just told me was unsafe to reuse. Also, he forgot to give me my valve adapter back until I reminded him. Oh, and he confidently told me to inflate the tire to 60 PSI when the actual rating was 80. Amateur hour.

Second visit: My chain was skipping in one gear. They said I needed a new chain. Fine. Later, they call and say, oops, the new chain didn’t fix it, so I actually need a new cassette—which they don’t have. I get charged $9 just to have my old chain put back on. Annoying, but fair mistake. Except now my chain skips in four gears instead of one.

And the worst part? They took it upon themselves to adjust my brakes—something I never asked for—because they were “rubbing.” Well, thanks to their “free” service, my rear brake now randomly locks up while riding and completely seizes if I use it, forcing me to stop and roll backward to fix it. Now I have to go to a real bike shop and pay to undo their mess.

Bottom line: These people don’t know a thing about bike repairs. They rent bikes, but they should not be working on them. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually knows what they’re doing

Been here many times to get my bike serviced. The staff is always so friendly and helpful without any expectations in return. A friend of mine put my new bike together and put the front fork on backwards 😕after claiming that he knows what he’s doing and has done this many’s times before. 🤦🏽‍♀️Came to Hermosa Cyclery and they totally set me straight. Definitely the go to place for servicing your bike needs. 😃 👍🏽

I biked 38 miles from Hermosa Cyclery to Will Rogers State Beach and back along the bike trail for the all day cost of $24. It included a relatively secure lock and a basket for my bag no extra cost. I used the bike without gears and without the handbrake so I braked by turning the pedals backwards. I had no problems. It was one of the best days of my life!

Such a pleasant experience renting today! The service was quick and kind and the bike was in great condition. Easy and comfortable ride to Santa Monica and back. Love that it comes with a lock so you can go out and explore.

We were in the area, and looking around to rent bikes to ride on the paved path near the beach. This place rents bikes for tourists like us to be able to ride along the beach. Their rates were very reasonable, and their service is friendly & helpful. They provide locks so you can stop, lock up the bike, and enjoy the sites. Have rented with them twice now, and both times worked out very well.
