Great local bakery, really loved that their sandwiches are made fresh on the spot to order, so you know there’s not loads of food waste. They also use for the vast majority paper and card packaging. Both unlike the other bakery in town which was mountains of single use plastic on the shelves of prepared sandwiches, surely too many to sell. I highly recommend the Great Basin Bakery sandwiches on sourdough, I loved the feta and spinach croissant and then the chocolate orange scone was super fluffy and mega tasty. Great for a climbing crag brekkie and lunch to take with you. They also have some nice locally made sauces and honey and had some yummy veggie options.

My soccer team recently travel to bishop for a CIF game. We preordered sandwiches to pick up before they closed, a hour and a half before you game was over. The owner found out about our sandwiches having to sit for a while and personally delivered them to us after they closed to make sure they wouldn't have to sit out. We all enjoyed our food, very delicious! The cookies are great too! Thank you so much for your kind actions, we all really appreciated it

Took the High School Soccer team to Bishop. Looking to get 28 sandwiches for the ride home. The GBB was everything helpful. They filled our order with delicious food, threw in some cookies for the team, and went out of their way to deliver to the HS.

Excellent experience and excellent food.

Unlike 99% of California establishments, they are fast, hardworking and pay attention. All while still being friendly people. Good food, horseradish dressing on roast beef was great. Good cookies n bread. Seems like lots of friendly locals eating here

Bagels and sourdough bread is delish. Salads are yummy but DO NOT FORGET TO ASK FOR DRESSING BECAUSE THEY OFTEN FORGET!!). I have really tried to like the cookies but find them just meh. Would love to see more effort in their sweets offering. Thanks for an overall great local place.

While the other bakery in town gets loads of recognition you should not overlook the Great Basin Bakery. Such a great selection of baked breads, bagels, pastries, and cookies. We devoured our cinnamon roll which was moist and topped with yummy goodness. The staff are friendly and service was quick. Coffee is delicious too

Seriously good bakery! Great sour bread and tasty not overly sweet cookies. My new stop in and out Mammoth. No more amusement park crowds around the corner. The bagels were very good as well. Looking forward to having other menu items…… breakfast sandwishes, breads, coffee etc.

I discovered this bakery by accident. Unlike the other bakery in town that everyone (including me) goes to, this place is smaller, less crowded and friendlier.
The service was quick, and there was a lot of choice - a breakfast sandwich could be made with bread, any kind of bagel, or a croissant, and it's made fresh there and then (without a huge wait).
