I ordered a Dynam F6F Wildcat, later that evening, I had second thoughts and called to cancel. No one answered, but I left a message to cancel my order. The next evening, I got an email that the item was shipped. No call back or acknowledgment of the cancelation. The plane arrives, and it is not what I ordered, it is a F4U Corsair. I decided that I could live with the Corsair, so I went ahead and opened it. First off, the tailcone had obviously been broken off and glued back on. It looks terrible! Upon further inspection, I found that the kit is missing the speed controller and the motor. I called and emailed General Hobby, but as of now, no response. I wish I had noticed this company's ratings, I never would have bought from them. I recommend that you don't either.

I recommend using a payment method that has buyer's protection. Ordered a Hobby King B-17 and was sent a different plane instead. Contacted customer service via email and received a very rude reply from Richard. I began the dispute process with Pay Pal but there was a note on PayPal's web site from Richard asking to contact him personally to resolve any problems. I called him and explained I would dispute the charge through PayPal unless he agreed to refund my purchase and pay for the shipping back. He tried to convince me to keep the plane, but I explained it wasn't what I wanted and that it was missing parts. He agreed to refund my purchase and pay for return shipping. Sent the plane back and they did refund the cost of the plane but not the shipping. Emails and phone calls to customer service weren't answered. I disputed the charge through PayPal and PayPal refunded the shipping charge after completing their investigation. I recommend checking out complaints on BBB before purchasing anything form this seller.

DO NOT BUY FROM GENERAL HOBBY!!!!!!
I payed $20000 for a V2 12blade ducted fan F-16 Fighting Falcon + $20.00 for shipping.and when I reviewed my package yesterday afternoon I was worried from the reviews I read after I bought the aircraft. Just as I had feared I didn't get a F-16 with the instead I got a F-18 Blue Angels #6 with a 5 blade I'm assuming the V1 ducted fan. The aircraft is in great condition and everything seems to be in the box ready to assemble Not even close to what I ordered and just as most the reviews read I haven't gotten a reply back and think I'm S.O.L. on a return email or even an answer to replacement aircraft and am stuck with a jet I didn't want at all. I don't care for the blue angels I'm a thunderbirds guy and fear I'm going to have to seek legal help to resolve my issue

I’ve bought over 27 planes from this company over the years. Just read others complaints. Don’t listen to them, if they don’t have the plane in stock? They give you options on another plane in stock! Or they will refund your money. They never treated us wrong. We Love this hobby store. My option, Their the best priced RC planes out their!! Excellent quality!! I plan on buying more in the future!!!

Ordered some retracts for a B-17. I was notified that a shipping label was created and patiently waited. After checking the shipping status, I saw that it was never dropped off for shipment. I called and spoke to him several times over the next couple weeks, and he always said something like " you'll get it any day now" or you will get it in a week".

Well, he never sent it. Had to dispute this order and got my money back... 2 months later.

This is a pattern with General Hobby. It seems like he tries to lead you along to run out the clock until you can't fight it. Stay far, far away!

This is the second airplane I ordered from Richard Yan at General Hobby. This company is a joke to say the least. The first plane I ordered came late and was damaged in transit, of course Richard blamed UPS for the damage and claimed he would refund me some money since he could not or would not furnish the parts to repair that plane. Long story short he never did anything. That was over a year ago, I decided to give them another try and placed an order on 7-31-20 for another plane and paid for Priority Mail 3 day shipping. On the first of August I received an email stating that the order had shipped and I was provided a USPS tracking number. Well that turned out to be a fake, Richard never sent the package and USPS is now looking into the fraudulent email he sent about the USPS tracking/delivery procedure. I was informed this is not his first problem with USPS, and using their service to basically swindle funds from customers while shipping by other means or not at all. He has not responded to my emails the past few days or any of my calls so now begins the process of recovering my money through my credit card provider and continuing the complaint process with the Pomona Police and US Postal Inspection Service which is the law enforcement arm of the USPS. I guess Richard feels that if he just ignores you long enough you will let him keep your money and he has to do nothing. He picked the wrong guy to do that to this time, I will take every action I can to make him pay for his actions, whether it was over 10.00 or 10,000.00. Right is right, he has had more than ample time to ship the product, provide tracking and refund the difference for the delays. But he chooses to ignore this problem and hide until I give up like so many of his customers do. I'm not giving up Richard, I will call and email you relentlessly until this is resolved. I may even show up at your door with the police, I am sure they will be happy to hear all about your scam. And more than likely do a nice video review showcasing your fraud in detail.

In short people don't buy from this company, I gave him a second chance and he screwed me over again, those that got what you ordered are either just lucky or are part of his scam. DO NOT ORDER from generalhobby.com.

Many have apparently had a bad experience with General Hobby. I have bought 3 planes from them and have been completely satisfied. The last plane was a 91 inch wingspan, which planes this size or larger are often expensive to ship (UPS $250, by truck to residence $150, etc.). When I ordered that one online, it said 2 day shipping at $25. I knew this must have been a automatic computer response and wrong. The next day Richard contacted me and communicated that the plane I ordered had just gone out of stock and offered an alternative. I suggested another one and he said he would look into it. The next day he contacted me and said that he was able to ship the one I suggested. The next day he then said that he shipped it Greyhound for about $50, which was fine as the Greyhound station is only a few blocks from my house. The net result, even though the third plane had some complications, I received a plane I wanted in less than 7 days from when ordered and it was complete and undamaged. Though some of the details of this transaction could have been handled better by them, at this point I am satisfied with my experiences with General Hobby.

I ordered a f4u course air on black Friday, it took 10 days to get here and was complete no damage. I was skeptical about this purchase because of the 350.00 price. The only thing I didn't like was no tracking number. But it arrived by UPS as he said it would. I'm happy with my purchase
