I love Gelsons ,my husband and I love to shop in both TO and Westlake village...I know the people that work in Gelsons for 5 years and they are very professional and friendly...is my happy place and this review is for Marta P.( Martita) ,my happy soul that used to work in TO and they changed her to Westlake, she's the best " pizza chef "makes the best pizzas ever ,healthy ones if you ask her...Miguelito from TO he's also a very professional chef , Lou, Mr. Vicente, Alma ,Monica, Mr. Lazaro, ,Mr. Aniceto ...my queen from the Floral Department is Alma in Thousand Oaks ,she knows how to make the best floral arrangements and I have about 14 orchids in my house right now, peace lily's, etc , with beautiful ribbons the colors I love, best gifts for every occasion ( candles) and for my friends and neighbors, ... oh my goodness and the mangers and clerks so friendly and nice to my husband and I my sweet Gloria, Dawn in TO, Leo, and the food excellent...this is only my Gelsons review ...the bakery another story another review our other happy place... 😊 I recommend shopping grocery, fresh produce,organic, healthy food at the number 1 supermarket in TO GELSONS ...

We went to purchase steamed rice for our dog who needed a bland diet due to diarrhea. We were traveling with no cooking facilities and needed to find a store on July 4th that sold steamed rice. We found Gelson’s in Westlake Village and bought among other items two bowls of steamed rice at the poke bar which weighed in at 1.23 pounds according to the receipt. There were no signs - see photo - posted warning customers that the rice would be charged at $20 a pound, same as the poke. At checkout the clerk said nothing as he rang up two clear plastic bowls of rice. When we got back to the hotel, we realized what was charged. We expect ridiculously high prices at Gelson’s but $20 a pound for steamed rice. Yes we should have read the receipt at the store before leaving but we are used to receiving high prices at this chain. Today we went to the customer service desk to request an adjustment. The gentleman initially refused at first to while at the same time acknowledging that there should be signage warning customers that rice is charged at the same price as the poke. He relented after we pushed and gave us $10 which still makes the rice around $11 a pound. Very disappointed. We also are giving three stars for the tired condition of the store and limited selection compared to the other Gelson’s we have visited in Palm Springs.

I am so sad to find the wine bar closed today and last week. I really hope they change this! Myself and my partner come here regularly and love to shop, spend time with the bar tenders and relax. Please reopen the wine bar!

I called ahead and spoke to a very professional helpful staff- person in the non-Victor Bene pasty dept.
When I arrived to the deli counter I was helped by a very moody woman who got my 4 Irish apple puff pastries from the back. The other counter worker ignored me.
The weekday Morning & Daytime deli/prepared food counter staff are very professional, kind, upbeat, and patient. The evening and afternoon weekend staff at the deli counter need a refresher course on how to be professional and Pleasant to customers.
The gentleman-cashier who rung up my items was professional, friendly, and very helpful.
