I usually have great experiences at local game stores, and I hoped this one would be the same. However, when I arrived today, I wasn’t greeted upon entering the store. Instead a lady approached me when I began looking at products and asked me in a cold tone if I was looking for something specific. I told her, yes, I was looking for a particular Pokémon TCG set that I have occasionally seen stocked at other local game stores. She told me that they very rarely get that in, and provided no extra details or recommendations and made it sound like I was not welcome in the store. Upon thanking her, I received no response and not another word was spoken to me as I left the store.

Now I understand the Pokémon TCG hobby is very difficult these days for local game stores to deal with, but this level of customer service is unlike anything I have ever seen before. I do not think this is representative of Gear Gaming as a whole, but the lady that worked with me today clearly does not understand what professional customer service looks like. She very well may be the same woman other recent reviewers have commented on. As a collector new to the hobby, I left feeling disappointed and also highly unlikely to return to this location in the future.

The store itself is great with a lot of great selection. The associate, think her name was Zara, she was the worst. She was very rude not just to me but to other customer’s and another associate. I hope someone in management sees this because she needs to be corrected on how to be a nice person. She really should not be able to be in customer service if she continues to be like this

Gear Gaming Fayetteville is a great place. I have never felt less than welcome, and I am comfortable taking my kids there because unlike a lot of hobby places...they actually support and encourage the kiddos! They have a purchase limit on new Pokemon products, which is bad for scalpers but good for the kids (or your own inner kid) who just wants to rip some of the newest set. They host tons of events, and if you see something in the glass case you like the possibility of working out a trade-in type of deal with your own higher-end cards is easy. Sure, they run out of new stock quickly...but guess what? SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE RIGHT NOW! At least one person can't roll up with a shopping cart here and take all the stock as soon as it hits the shelf.
Their store is super nice, with tons of tables for gaming or spreading out your binder at trade events, they've got a snack machine, they're friendly, and they know their stuff.

I recently made a preorder of prismatic evolutions elite trainer box from gear gaming back in December. I live out of town but was in the area visiting family. I asked the store owner if I made a preorder would they hold it till I was able to pick it up. He confirmed that because preorders with them are paid in full they will hold it till we pick it up or have it shipped. So I made the preorder and just last week I received the below email asking me to pick up the cards or they will cancel them and refund in store credit. So not only did they intend to resell the cards at a higher price, which violates their contractual obligations because the product was already paid in full, but they intended to keep my money and force me to get a different product. This is also the same guy who justified marking product up 10% to "deter" scalpers. They also have several items listed for market price while it benefits the company, but when it doesn't benefit the company they leave it marked at MSRP. Scummy business, will not be back.

If I could leave zero stars I would. A bigger build middle age lady , I am trying to get into the Pokémon TCG I had asked if they had any packs all she had said was NOPE smugly , and turned around. Definitely will not be returning, seems like she could use some customer service skills training.

Sold my top 40 graded and ungraded pokemon cards to them. The whole process took 45 minutes. Their evaluation and percentage of compensation was definitely above industry standards. Will do business in the futurure

I write this after I Personally have had a terrible experience 3 Times in a row at this location. Terrible product in-stock. I have ordered (or attempted to) from here 3 separate times for different cards only to arrive and not have the cards. Wasted gas, Mileage, and Time. Only to get “we will issue you a refund”, Really? I likely will not be coming back again. Pathetic customer service.
