Owner made me feel very unwelcome. Claimed that there was a policy to not take photos or videos without permission due to the products not being completely owned by him and asked to see my phone.
Overall mid store.

Went in and they didn't have much of a selection. Echoing the other reviews; it does look like they still haven't completely moved in. There are still boxes everywhere for people to see. I came back a few months later to sell some Gamecube games and I was offered well below the buying price. The owner offered store credit for more money but with the selection it wasn't worth it. I've seen people go here for console and disk repairs but for games I'd look elsewhere. GameDude and LA Video Games will give you better prices and more selection overall.

Game Portal is a little unorthodox but it's a hidden gem that sets itself apart from other mall game stores. A lot of the inventory is kept in bins behind the counters, but the owner makes an effort to lay out the interesting stuff. When we were there, they had the N64 games laid out behind the cabinet, so you had to lean over a bit to see them. This shop is also cash only, so keep that in mind if you plan to buy. If there's anything you're looking for, they're happy to look it up on their inventory system since it might be in a bin. Prices were incredibly fair for the area. The games I picked up were basically market price and in way better condition. This is definitely a passion project and a nice spot to stop in to talk or shop.

Horrible selection and terrible pricing. The shelves are perpetually barren and only ever stocked with the lowest quality titles. The prices are significantly higher than many other independent stores and often even surpass ebay prices. The store is unwelcoming both in terms of appearance and staff. It’s a miracle this place is even open, it’s a wonder it ever opened in the first place. It feels like video game store run by people who hate video games

Really dig this place! The owner is super friendly and knowledgeable about everything in the store, and beyond.
He had exactly what I was after and at a great price. Even took the time to do a once-over on the game cartridge.
So glad to have a game store, like back in the day!

Used to be a very good video game store if you came a couple of years back. Every time I enter it always looks like they aren't finished moving into their shop. Owner isn't very friendly, seems anti social, and doesn't seem to want to really sell games to anyone. Came in a couple of months back and brought in a huge GameCube lot to sell which included a lot of expensive games and accessories. I tell the owner that I would like cash for these games and he tells me that cash value would be less which is reasonable for any game store to do, so I look around the store while I wait and there isn't much that looked interesting to buy and when I asked about prices for games they are more overpriced than what you would find on eBay or other game stores. So owner then tells me he can do $35 cash on everything I brought in. I politely decline and take my GameCube stuff back. The items I brought included mostly the mario games, GameCube Component Cable, GameCube Broadband Adapter, and the GameBoy Player as well. Really disappointed with this shop, I don't know how they are still able to pay the rent for the shop and how they are making any sales this way. I do still go to this store from time to time just to browse but it always looks like they are still moving in and not putting in any effort to get more inventory. I’d highly recommend to take your money to eBay or Game Tower in San Fernando for a better shopping experience.

Used to be an awesome place to buy games but now it’s a hollow shell of what it used to be. The owner is very rude and unfriendly. The store is pretty much dead. No music, no fun, no good deals. The only reason why I’m giving it two stars out of five is because there are rarely good games in stock but honestly you’re better off going to game realms.
