Went here on prismatic evolutions’ launch day hoping to get some products at a fair price only to find out that they’re charging double MSRP for everything. Other game kastle in Santa Clara was charging MSRP but I missed out, so I came here expecting MSRP. Would love to support a LGS but would not tolerate price gouging behavior so I walked out with nothing. Wasted an hour coming here and waiting. Store person was very nice and said business is tough hence the prices, which is understandable, otherwise this would be a 1 star review.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I appreciated how easy it was to find what I was looking for. The store had everything I needed, which was great! However, I did notice the prices were a bit higher than average—not overly expensive, but slightly above market price. Overall, a good experience, but the pricing could be more competitive.

I frequent this store and the store overall is great place for tabke top gaming. There is plenty of space to play games though weekends can be very busy and crowded. They have events that the their website shows clearly. They also buy and sell mtg & pokemon cards, have 40k set ups, and and adventurer league.

I went to Game Kastle recently, and while the staff is friendly enough, the player community is a whole other story. If you're not already part of their little clique, good luck trying to get in on any games. It's like high school all over again – they’ve got their tight-knit groups, and unless you’re in with them, you’re pretty much invisible.

I came here expecting a welcoming community, but what I got was a cold shoulder from the regulars. Doesn’t matter how friendly the staff is if the players make you feel like an outsider the whole time. The place might be great for buying games, but if you’re looking for an open, inclusive place to play, don’t waste your time here unless you like being shut out

Their miniature selection is not as good as the other stores in the bay area. Plenty of play space and that's good however they focus really hard on tcg's here to the detriment of other product categories. I understand there's obviously sales to be made selling MTG singles, but you can also stock popular miniature games at the same time, while not having things like weird Warmachine boxes with pill bottles of magnets shrinkwrapped to the box on the shelf for a game that's been dead for years.

Love my local game store!! I just got back into collecting pokemon cards and prefer to buy singles and Janine helped me out with what to look out for in the new sets. They also buy/trade all TCGs with a wide selection of bulk cards available to complete a deck or for kids. Didn’t know anything about Magic but Alex gave me a couple welcome decks to learn. Friendliest LGS staff!

This is how local businesses lose to Amazon, "We do not have it in stock. You have to pre-order it. We can't take phone orders today because we are too busy."
I am too busy to take down my Visa number for $$$ order. It would have taken them less than two minutes.
I liked the store when I visited last year. They have a good selection and friendly staff.

It’s okay.

I’ve been a few times to grab a few small items (brushes). I’m frequently disappointed by their warhammer and paint offerings. They’ve got a decent stock of old (not well selling) battle force boxes. Stuff like Ordo Xenos or Adeptas “holiday box.” Don’t really carry “average units.” Prices are fine. Nothing crazy.

Paint selection is ok. Don’t come for citadel paints (they have some, not a ton), they have some vallejo, and a decent chunk of AK.

Board game selection is fine. Couple other local shops have better offerings; but they’re close, so that’s fine I guess.

Seems like their specialty is as a card shop. not my cup of tea so can’t answer to it.

Now, onto the low rating… I was in on 1/17 (and perhaps the only customer on the shopping side), looking at a few things, and happened to overhear a lovely conversation between the workers there, where one cited “Game Kastle was run differently a few months back before I joined. You would’ve sold this at MSRP! I can get so much more for them” as he cited basically hiking prices. Not super friendly …

To be fair, this was after a caller made some comment regarding a preorder and the staff member mentioned “we might get a bad review…” but there is no way this conversation regarding price hiking and such should be had loudly/publicly?

But those kind of conversations are not great for customers to hear, might not bother your core gaming clientele, but as someone trying to find their resident FLGS… Won’t be here for me sadly.
