TLDR: Most welcome LGS ever, super LGBTQIA+ & beginner friendly. Also very good pricing!

This is literally the most welcome card shop I’ve ever been to. I am pretty new to magic and people were being so kind and walking me through how the game works and being so encouraging. I just moved to the area and have not been able to unpack my Magic decks yet, so I wasn’t even planning on playing, but EVERYONE was offering me their decks to play (even REALLY expensive ones) without a second thought. Before I knew it I had a deck, a playmat, and dice I was allowed to borrow while playing. I struggle with anxiety and trying new shops is EXTREMELY hard for me, but everyone was so encouraging, that I felt safe to stay. Literally everyone I talked to in the store asked me my pronouns too!!! People even offered to buy me food and drinks, I haven’t even known them for an hour yet. I even left with cards and didn’t spend a penny, because people like to leave cards with other people when they aren’t looking as a “ha gotcha!” I only bought one card, but from looking at all their card packs their pricing was also decent! I was also flabbergasted at their organization of the cards, most LGS I go to have HORRID organization, they found the niche card I needed in an INSTANT! I will definitely be becoming a regular of this store, this whole experience has made my move to the area so much better, I can’t wait to make so many new friends.

Employees will do anything but make you feel welcome. Used to come after school as a kid and man did they run it down since. Makes a hobby feel like a chore going in here

Edit: Owner being argumentative on the response of a CUSTOMER review is exactly what I'm talking about. Went last weekend and was so disappointed with the services that it bled into next week. When visiting other card stores nearby they were so welcoming that it made me sure about how bad my experience was at galaxy. Multiple other shops have many tables with people doing drafts, packed events, etc. Bad service isn't a product of any of that which CAN be proven when it only shows true at one place. Saying added seating makes it less rundown is also just putting lipstick on a pig. You could have all the tables/mats every rare charizard and black lotus anyone wants but if you treat people like isht why would anyone want to go in anyway. Its clear the business model is to just only focus on draft nights now but seriously yall have other customers. I probably could've gave 2 stars given how good interactions used to be (or maybe from a better response), I still have a lot of cards that I got from galaxy when I was younger. But clearly there's no plans on moving in a positive direction for the community anytime soon with these types of interactions and this type of management. Go reread the review about a father looking to get his son pokemon cards from earlier this year. You know how easy it is to just say sorry we hope you have a better experience next time, please come back soon!? Constantly putting the customer in the wrong is actual delusion. 1 star shop absolutely

They have great magic events like commander nights every Friday, and drafting. They also have other events but I mostly go here for Magic. Pretty good selection of magic cards at fair market prices. Selling singles you get about 65% value of the cards which is standard at most card shops. Both people that work there have been very friendly so far and I've been going l weekly/biweekly for the past 2 months or so. Happy to have found a fun game shop I like near me.

My first time there. Asked a simple question about booster box prices. The guy with the color beard seems to no give af about customers. Just gave me a simple answer and continued to order food. I ended up buying cards but yeah I don't plan on supporting this place.

My name is Ivan and I can confidently, unequivocally say that galaxy games is a true home away from home. I started playing magic the gathering again about two years ago and I went to Galaxy to try and play a couple games for the first time in years thanks to the pandemic. I was extremely scared and nervous because I was new and I clearly wasn’t as experienced and knowledgeable as some of the other players. But when I sat down at a table with some of the regulars I met some of the kindest, well spirited and funny people there. I was actually atrocious at the game however they welcomed my mistakes with open arms. I never have felt so comforted playing a game that I love quite like I have at galaxy. They have the widest array of board games, card games and more nerdy accessories galore. The people and regulars here are some of the best people ever. A major part of galaxy games for me though besides the customers are the staff. Kellen, Steve and Nico are truly fantastic. Plenty of my friends have gone to the store and I’ve never heard anything negative about any of them. They are all so great and I could go on and on however nobody would want to read all of that. So I’ll say this. Wherever you are it is truly an experience more than a game store. The people I’ve met, the games I’ve played, and the stories I have from Galaxy I will remember and cherish forever. Every week I make it not just a habit but a reward to walk the mile and a half from my house to galaxy just for this. So take it from me and just make the trip, trek or commute to Galaxy Games.

Went here with my son to get a MTG starter kit and Galaxy Games had exactly what we needed. Got some really cool dice to play with, too. They seemed to have anything you could need for playing the game, plus they had tons of awesome looking board games. We will definitely be visiting again soon for more card packs and sets. Thanks, Galaxy Games.

Since my partner introduced me to Magic: The Gathering in August 2023, Galaxy Games has become our go-to spot every Friday and some Sundays. Nestled in Dublin, CA, it's a haven for MTG enthusiasts within a 50-mile radius. Visitors from Sacramento or San Jose often make the trek to experience this mini card sanctuary.

The staff, a fantastic quartet, adds charm to the shop:

Kellen, The Owner
Steve, DnD and LARP Master, and Junior MTG Judge
Nicco, Yu-Gi-Oh and Smash Bros Fanatic
Mac, The Dog, the adorable Galaxy Games Mascot

Despite the shop's size and bustling atmosphere, the staff's professionalism and efficiency shine. Some may misinterpret their focus as aloofness, but in reality, they're dedicated to ensuring your card orders are promptly fulfilled—even forgoing meals. During downtime, they reveal their engaging personalities and a wealth of knowledge about the games they offer.

Galaxy Games isn't just an MTG haven; it's a home away from home. Fridays and Sundays are eagerly anticipated hangout sessions for me. Beyond MTG, the shop offers a diverse array of board games, Yu-Gi-Oh/Lorcana/Final Fantasy/Flesh and Blood booster and starter packs. They don't stock video games. Also, a quick call to check inventory is advisable if you're making a trek.

To those with initial reservations, I urge a second visit. Discover the magic of Fridays during commander and draft night. The regulars swear by the shop's greatness, and I wholeheartedly agree—it's a gem with amazing people that make every visit memorable.
