Went in over the weekend to play some Yu-Gi-Oh however they were running a different format without posting anything on social media outside of a discord server. No mentions on Facebook or other media platforms. Please in the future let people know who come in that they are running a different format so this way people don't have to waste time and gas only to have to leave because the cards they're using can't be played during the changed format only to result in either having to pull out or find other cards to make a deck they worked on for a couple of weeks only to have roughly half their cards be deemed unusable.

Went in wanting to buy games for multiple game systems. The first game I picked out they could not find/did not have after having case displayed. Bought a PS2 game that never loaded or played ($16.99). Granted I did not take it back within 30 days because I don't live in the area, but I did have a receipt and would've even taken store credit or literally anything... but they didn't try to make any effort to make that right. Won't spend my money or time going there again.

I had a great return visit here this summer and picked up a few items while here and had a chance to meet and shoot the breeze with the owner.

Since my previous visit in the summer of 2017 they've made a few changes to the store. In the back they have gaming tables now and customers were taking advantage of those.

Over at the consoles I found a 2nd gen PS3 at a great price and grabbed that along with a copy of Need for Speed Underground. Along with that I found a couple of odds and ends like a mint original Atari 2600 joystick and some Dreamcast games. Nice haul indeed. Everything was in excellent condition and the prices on my purchases were more than fare. I'm looking forward to another visit next year.

G2K Games was the second stop on our retro gaming quest while in Rock Hill. This shop can be found within the Rock Hill Galleria Mall.

This is a nice shop. It's pretty large and there's a there's more to it than just retro gaming. In fact G2K actually reminds more of the traditional hobby shops that all but disappeared back in the 90's. In addition to current and retro video game platform's there are all sorts card games and board games. You'll find all sorts of collectibles there as well. In the back half of the store there are also tables setup for gaming.

I looked over quite a bit of their retro stock and found prices to be in about the range I was expecting. There were some deals here but not as many as I would have liked. They did however cover the spectrum of classic consoles. I saw cartridges and consoles for the Atari 2600, 5200 & 7800. Sega Master System & Genesis. Nintendo NES, Super NES, N64 and of course Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstations 1-3. The current generation PS4 and Xbox One were also present as well.

All in all a decent place, that I'll certainly put in my rotation next time i'm in the area.

Lately, I've been stopping by G2K a lot over the past few months.
I really enjoy the selection of classic games here. There is a wide collection of games for all kinds of different consoles. They also sell some accessories for older consoles, like memory cards for PS1/2.
The big hitter games are generally in glass cases and usually fall around eBay prices. The other games on the shelves in general, though, can be grabbed at a great deal. I picked up about 5 PS2 games recently, each game cost anywhere between $5 and $15 dollars. Not bad, I'd say.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Everyone always asks if you need any help. I've also had good experiences with returning games. Here and there you'll get a disc that doesn't work properly (as is natural with older, used games), and it's never a hassle or anything. I was even able to apply the cost of my returned disc toward a different purchase.

I haven't gone to any card game events, but usually there's a pretty large group just hanging out on those days.

Overall, I really enjoy going to G2K to look for cool retro games. I usually check out this store, and also Joe's Video Games, but you just can't beat that wall of used GameCube and PS2 games here at G2K.
It's definitely worth a visit if you like 7th gen gaming and below.

I guess I could give this store a higher rating since I play Magic there and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and funny, but I have issues.

Firstly, it is in a really run down mall. Pretty sure it will be abandoned and used as an air soft range in five years. Literally only one open food place in the food court followed by hallways of empty storefronts.

Secondly, I am not sure what this store is trying to be. Interspersed with the video games, there are DVDs, board games, vinyl records and other random Knick knacks. The lack of focus is really off putting.
