5 Stars – My Wallet Weeps, but My Heart Sings

Walking into Far Harbor is like stepping into the gates of the Emperor’s Holy Palace—if the Palace also sold plastic crack at dangerously addictive levels. The staff? Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and possibly capable of rolling sixes at will. They answered my 47 newbie questions with the patience of an Eldar Farseer (minus the arrogance) and even pretended not to judge me when I said I was considering not painting my miniatures.

The selection is top-tier—armies for every faction, paints in colors I didn’t even know existed, and terrain so detailed that I half expected tiny Chaos Marines to start crawling out of it. They also host events, which means I now have a regular excuse to tell my friends I’m “engaging in strategic warfare” instead of “playing with toy soldiers.”

Only downside? My bank account is now a barren wasteland, and my backlog of unpainted minis has grown to a size that would make an Ork Waaagh jealous. But hey, worth it. If you’re into Warhammer (or just looking to accidentally fall into a new and expensive hobby), this place is a must-visit.

If you’re looking for tabletop wargaming in Grand Rapids then this is the place. Far Harbor is probably Grand Rapids best kept gaming secret. A small and cozy gaming space with plenty of hobby and play space. Whether you come by every week or once every other month the gamers there welcome you like an old friend. The owner, Jesse, cares deeply for the local gaming community and it shows in the frequency and quality of events Far Harbor puts on. As a Grand Rapids local I highly recommend checking this place out.

I've been to the shop often over the past few months to play Conquest and Pathfinder. I appreciate that I can find a great selection of 40K, Age of Sigmar, Conquest, and several other games in Jesse's store. The community that plays and shops there are some great folks and the Discord server is a good time! Jesse and The regulars will give any advice on building armies, decks, and more. Swing by sometime to meet Jesse, the community, and his precious dog!

Big fan of Far Harbor! Lots and lots of varied terrain available when you pay a really cheap (imo) table fee.

We have to ensure that we continue to support the local brick & mortar locations for our various hobbies. We can't beat them up over MSRP pricing, running a business has a million hidden costs that we don't (thankfully) have to think about.

This is my home hobby shop and I absolutely love this place. The staff is awesome, and the atmosphere is super laid back. This store also has an insane conquest presence, which is awesome. I definitely recommend checking this store out and joining the community!

We are so lucky to have such a great game store in our area. If you are at all interested in miniature wargaming, Far Harbor Gaming is a fantastic place to play.

There's a good amount of space, the owner is a great guy, and the community is helpful and friendly. The mall itself is a little sketchy, but that's not their fault and it's a small price to pay for the ample parking and good location.

They play a wide variety of games, sell used models, and there's a very active Discord if you want to find a community for any given game.
