This place is just amazing. I came two years ago and haven't stopped thinking about it since. I dragged my sister and best friend with me, and well all got something unique and amazing. I ended up having to exchange something I bought, and it was a very easy process. It's a cosplays paradise. Three stories of amazing costumes and designs.

Been shopping here for over 20 years. Must go for anyone visiting the area. My most recent visit, there was some art on display that was out of stock on the shelf. An associate went in the back and found one for me! I've always loved shopping here for gifts and little trinkets. Fan fave for life!!

Walked into here by chance while visiting Old Sacramento. I would have never thought I’d see such a fascinating and extensive costume shop. The shop is three floors with a gift shop on the first, the second floor being based on renaissance, lab-based, gothic, jail, and jungle costumes, and the third floor including disco, storybook, circus costumes, wigs, and makeup. There are cashiers on each floor and children’s costumes in storage - you just need to ask for assistance. Given how expansive it is, the costume shop also has a scavenger hunt and cute novelty props set around the store.

A unique experience. This is not a standard costume shop like the "spirit Halloween shop", that comes around once a year.
I was impressed. Again based on my experiences with costume shops in New Orleans during Mardi gras.
3 floors of costumes and merchandise. To much to describe and explain. So I will place my photos here and you can look.
You have to experience this place first hand.
This shop is located in the oldest existing building from the mid 1800's in Old Sacramento.

While the main parts of my costume are from elsewhere, I went to evangelines in a panic, needing some last-minute things to complete my look for the Victorian Christmas in Nevada city. I needed them quickly, so my first time in evangelines was definitely an experience on it's own. I also felt like I should have gone there first because a lot of the things you're looking at online are probably there, but better. They have whole rooms dedicated to themes, and I was in awe. I loved everything there. I will be going here repeatedly in the future instead of wasting hours scrolling for something that may not fit or arrive on time. This place makes me want to do more events that require costumes 🤣 everything you need is at evangelines!

My favorite costume store. They have so many full costume sets, individual costume pieces, accessories, and downstairs nick nacs. Every level has its sections of style (steampunk, festival, pirate, etc)
My only negative is it gets kind of crowded and can be hard to get around when it's busy.

Every time I go to this shop, I absolutely love it! If you’re ever in need of a costume, this is the place to go hands-down. They have literally anything you could possibly want in. The quality is excellent. It is three stories tall, and I do believe the elevator goes to all of the stories. If you are downtown in old Sacramento, you need to stop here because it’s such a good time!
