I honestly feel bad for the employees. The owner is one of the rudest people I have met. After years of buying from both his antique store and auction I will not be returning. His prices are crazy high which I’ve been fine with and have purchased many of his items. if you deal with him expect to be yelled at. He says to make an offer but that’s his trap if you offer anything other than what he thinks it’s worth you’ll get yelled at. Don’t go unless you like to be yelled at by a grumpy old guy. I’ve taken my buisness elsewhere check out the other auction sites and antique stores

Ridiculously overpriced. Could be a good business but at this point it's just junk at 10x the realistic price. But hey, there's a knight in rusty armor.

Duane's Antique Market has one of the best selections of antique furniture in Alaska. There are two buildings, three floors, and two covered outdoor areas full of antique furniture. You'll find rare items inside, mostly items that you won't find in most antique stores. While I'm impressed by the selection of items packed into these buildings I'm just as amazed by some of the high prices. If you're a collector you'll pay top dollar here, but I doubt you'll find these rare items very easily - so maybe the price is worth it? Parking is limited and you'll need at least a couple hours to see everything. Again this is one of the best antique stores in Alaska, so make sure you have time and money with you.

Best selection of antiques in Anchorage, but also very overpriced. I do love going and seeing all the different items and have purchased a handful of things. When you can find items elsewhere locally (fb marketplace for example), you'll typically pay a fraction of the price. When Duane's is the only option though, sometimes you just have to pay the inflated costs. Sometimes that's Okay.

The owner was nice and chatty. He had a great attitude and LOTS of interesting finds. Much better than some of the other "antique" stores I went to while in Anchorage. This is a must do!

Edit to previous review: Since I cannot comment back to the owner, he was the one that initially mentioned eBay. Hence how the conversation started, we then decided to walk through the store and that’s when the owner got aggressive to the point we almost called APD. He states that he is open to haggling, but if you mention anything $10 or more less than what he is offering, he will not sell you the item and will get angry at you for offering anything less.

If I could give no stars I would. My husband and I have been going to this store for many years and have gotten a lot from them. As of recently the store owner has become aggressive and argumentative. DO NOT mention pricing of the same or better condition items you have seen else where or you will be confronted with an argument. Due to this interaction we are now banned from the establishment all because after we talked with the owner, and then walked through the store he decided to get in my husbands face about stating how he was not going to buy what he wanted due to the HUGE price mark up on the item.

The other staff at this establishment are great to deal with. If it were not for the owner and the prices this place would thrive on selling antiques.

We purchased an item from this business several months ago while on a visit to Alaska. The owner was cordial and very fair. We had the item shipped to our home. Through a series of mishaps it got lost in shipping. It was of course not something that's easily replaceable. The gentleman from this store worked tirelessly to find it, get it flown back to Alaska and ultimately delivered to us in the lower 48. I can only imagine how much money they lost on this transaction. But never did they complain or shift responsibility. They simply worked towards a solution that gave me the item I paid for. You don't see this level of service anymore. These folks are top rate.

Fantastic Shop with an amazing collection of antiques, scrimshaw, furniture, and jewelry. Great to meet and visit with Duane and talk about his eclectic collections for sale. A rare treat!
