I actually was traveling in Maine for vacation when I stopped here. It's a large room with role-playing games to purchase and plenty of space for card tournaments and table gaming. The owner, Nick, is incredibly helpful and attentive. Even more unusual (in my experience) was the fact the people who go there to play/buy were helpful and attentive! I was asked into magic games within 10 minutes of entering although I am not the normal customer for a shop like that (middle-aged woman). Great prices on MtG cards, great service. My husband and I plan on stopping in again next time we visit Maine. =)

If you're a female, I'd avoid this place.

Both times I went in I dealt with the owner. The first time he spent most of it on the phone. He later explained to us (though we didn't ask) that it was because of his "b*tch ex-girlfriend". I was with my boyfriend, and that day we bought about $150 worth of Warhammer 40k stuff to get us both started. Both. Every time I asked a question, he would direct the answer to my boyfriend. In the end I gave up asking, searched for answers I wanted on my phone instead. I paid, and the owner made a bit of a big deal that a girl was supporting her boyfriends hobby, like his new wife (and again, not like his "b*tch ex-girlfriend", a term he used at least four times in our one half-hour visit). I bit my tongue because, okay, whatever, I don't care.

The second time was much, much worse. The owner was wearing a shirt with a naked woman on it. It made me uncomfortable so I avoided him. Again he mostly ignored me to speak to my boyfriend instead. I was more than grateful. After I picked out my set, my boyfriend paid. This time it was about $40 because we had bought all of our supplies the first time around. The owner made a huge deal making sure my boyfriend knew he was 'whipped' (don't forget, if *I* pay over $100 for what is presumed to be his, I'm supporting his hobby and a good girlfriend. If he pays $40 for what is clearly for me, he's whipped and needs to be mocked). He made a very big deal handing the change to me even though my boyfriend paid. I was not pleased, passed the money to my boyfriend, and we got out of there before I did something I'd regret.

Altogether just the worst costumer service I've ever received. I didn't even realize people still acted like this. I've been to comic book shops and hobby shops all over the place, and have never once been treated with such disrespect by someone who worked there, much less the actual owner. I now buy all of my hobby equipment online. He really managed to lose a lot of money by acting like a sexist pig.
