Decicco Brother's novelities - Bronx, New York

I purchased a tea towel at Decicco Brother's on 9/17/2024. It cost $28 - pretty expensive for the product, but the owners of the tiny shop were engaging and I wanted to support their small neighborhood business. I expect higher prices for the unique, quality groceries and other items you can only find in the local businesses on Arthur Avenue. However, next stop and just a few doors away, I saw and purchased the identical (down to the sewn in label) towel, for $8. I went back to Decicco Brother's (with the 2nd towel in hand to show them). I asked to return their towel but they refused, stating their "no return" policy.

Decicco's is offering this item at over 3x the price of a neighboring shop - PRICE GOUGING. BUYER BEWARE IF YOU SHOP HERE.

I've given one star to Decicco's in this review because I can't seem to post this otherwise - probably user error on my part, but moving on... I'll dedicate that single star rating for Decicco's to the wooden Pinocchio keychains they sell - you don't find them very often. But you should look elsewhere first - Decicco's are likely 3x higher in price.

About a month ago, my mother & I visited NYC all the way from England, we visited Little Italy and had the pleasure of wandering into this lovely little shop on Arthur Avenue, the experience truly made our day. The man behind the counter, Jack, was the nicest guy you could ever meet, he was attentive and made sure we walked away with a smile.
If I ever return to the Bronx, I'll be sure to pay a visit to this shop again.

I still remember my visit, back in 2017, when I had a long chat with the owner, Jack, a great all around guy, and his lovely mother about our common origins in Italy, what a day! Great place for a good novelty hunt too, I bought very high quality merchandise there, still around until today attesting to it's durability.

My family and I stopped in today and were greeted by some of the best customer service. The gentlemen behind the counter was very accommodating and helpful, letting us know what was available in what sizes. Given that is New York City, the quality of the items we picked out (hoodie, sweatshirts, and t-shirts) and what things cost in general I feel the prices were fair. We chatted as we were checking out and learned more about the history of the business and overall had a pleasant time in the store. and I much prefer the Bronx little Italy to the Manhattan little Italy.

We visited Jack at his Decicco gift shop today and it was awesome! We were fortunate enough to visit last year and we wanted to come back again and see him. We
came from Canada. His mother was sooo nice. We bought a few items like t shirts and aprons! Jack is such a good guy and great conversation! I’m wearing a t shirt from last years visit!

Let me tell you that this will now be my go to store for souvenirs. The gentleman behind the counter was beyond helpful and didn't rush us. He was very polite and went out of his way to tell us the different items they had. One of the best experiences I've had in little Italy. Check it out and buy some epic trinkets and souvenirs.

Grossly overpriced. Everyone is suffering from hard times, but yet they take advantage. Even cheating their own, no prices on anything and you're not told prices or final bill when rung up. Souvenirs are just that: fun little trinkets purchased to remember a time passed. My heart sunk when I saw my bank account depleted so much the next morning, so much money for a few items. I thought there had to be a mistake. I don't have it like that. Let the buyer beware. Such a complete rip off. The father was sitting in the chair telling the son to push more items on me to buy. So freaking greedy. No wonder Arthur Avenue is a ghost town. Complete rip off. Little Italy Bronx turning into Little Italy Manhattan. Poor reflection on an iconic neighborhood. So sad. This isn't Bloomingdale's.
