Blatant malpractice when I went in to sell some pack fresh cards. 23/27 cards I submitted were rated as heavily played while maybe 2 or 3 of them could be considered in that condition. This happened once before and assumed it was an error so whatever, but it was clear the second time around that the employees were unable to provide reasoning beyond “print quality now is bad” when I asked what specifically deemed my card heavily played. It would have cost this business possibly an additional $5-$10(?) to be honest and evaluate my cards correctly. The employees not being able to justify their own coworkers evaluation speaks lengths on the integrity of the people in charge. Included are some photos of a "heavily played" card with the receipt, again rated at this because of "modern print quality", and not because of any played damage to a card.

An excellent and organized collection of board games, miniatures, puzzles, party games, pocket games, Pokemon, magic the gathering. Also an area to play games. They host events. The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

My son and I are just beginning our adventures in the D&D realm. Davis Cards & Games makes it very easy to walk in and get started wether you're a novice or an experienced player. The DM's (Dungeon Master) who run the adventure are experienced storytellers who don't mind helping without taking away from the unknown aspect. Saul and Francesca are great DM's who are thoughtful and let my son explore the possibilities and explain his reasoning for what he wants or attempting to do. Thanks DCC! I have taken a long time to think about rewriting my review.

TLDR: gamestore is good for cards,D&D, and board games.If that's your niche, this is your place. Can be costly. Make sure to find your community.

I moved to Davis 2 years ago. Being new to the area and looking for a community. As a nerd, this was the only place in town.

I had a relatively bad experience with the owners of the store after taking second place in a war gaming tournament. The prizes were models. None of which I could use for my army, and when I asked for store credit. I was declined and told that I could either take the model or take nothing.The experience was quite polarizing for me.

With entrance into the play area being $5 per visit, the expenses began to run up fast. Spending $25-50 a month on entry and not including what I spent on snacks was not a sustainable practice for my wallet. I struggled to find the community that I had so wanted. With the pros starting to outweigh cons, I realized this was not a gamestore I felt a community in.

This store has gone through some changes since that time. There are some wonderful people who are employees at the store. For other people in different hobbies, this is a great place for family and children.It boasts a wide variety of board games and card games and tailors its clientele towards Dungeons & Dragons, Magic the Gathering, and Pokémon.

3 days of being told "your cards are almost done being priced/looked at." Figure out how long it'll actually take. Makes me very suspicious when I'm not being told what's actually happening. I have no issues with waiting as long as I'm told how long it'll actually take.

Best place to go to play Pokemon events! Highly recommend! Friendly atmosphere and staff are going above and beyond to make your staying there fun and engaging. I’m personally from Sacramento but regularly driving there because beside of fun and great staff this place has: clean restroom, water cooler for guests, cozy decorations. All boxes are checked for me there ?

Great place for buying sealed cards!

I've collected cards on and off for years (Pokemon, Marvel, DC, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and now DBZ) and the current climate makes it hard to buy stuff not only had at MSRP, but just to find it in stock in person.

Bought a collectors box for Dragon ball super TCG and had a wonderful experience with staff. I really appreciate their drive to offer MSRP or as close as possible. Will recommend this store to anyone looking for cards as you can trust the product is 100% untampered with.

What an amazing place for games!!! The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. They have a huge selection of games with a play area. And they are moving to a new location that is even bigger. Happy staff and a move to expand shows just how great they are. I can't recommend Davis Cards and Games more for buying, learning, and playing games of all kinds.
