This place is an absolute GEM. If you’re anything like me and have an affinity for trains and model railroading, and especially Lionel, this place is a goldmine.

They’re always friendly and I’m liable to spend a good hour or two just shooting the breeze and looking around at all the place has to offer. Plus these are the ones to talk to whenever you need a repair or just want to keep your engines running and in good shape. They’ll go through and make any repairs needed AND just like changing the oil in the car they’ll also go through and clean and lube down all the internal components too so it runs better than before.

If you’re coming from far away it might be wise to call ahead and make sure they’re open just because but these folks are truly good people and the business reflects that every time I’ve gone in.

Choo Choo Works is an awesome place with amazing people. My dad (73 yr) gave me his childhood train set, and it was in pretty bad shape. We had 3 boxes worth of trains and supplies, no idea what worked or what we had. Well we checked out choo choo works to see what we could do with it and was told it would all need to be refurbished. I wanted to surprise my dad for Christmas but it would take a lot of time. The owner Josie was extremely helpful, patient, and willing to work with me to get it back to working condition and in time to give it to him. She even used left over pieces from what we had leftover to fix what we had to save us some money. I would 100% recommend this family owned business for your hobby train needs or to just to look around and learn about trains because its a really cool and unique shop. Thank Josie!

Not happy...
Wanted to visit this store, drove over 45min. Note in window that they are closed for Thanksgiving weekend. Take a hint... busy shopping days!! Be open!! Cant support small business if closed.

If I could give them a zero, I would. We brought our train to them in December to see if they could fix it. It is now July and we still do not have our train back and have been given nothing but excuses. I have asked that they return the broken train or replace and receive no response. I would never recommend anyone doing business with them.

Walked in and immediately walked out. The entire store smells like stale ashtray as Soon as you walk in the door. I get it's privately owned, but no one wants to deal with that smell any more.
