I went for a play that was going on. I didn't get to explore the grounds too much but the castle is absolutely beautiful. I can definitely imagine it in the summer this place looks like a fairy tale. Definitely buy your tickets in advance. And because of the traffic in the area plan to get there early.

Took the Hempstead House tour and it was great! The craftmanship in this Tudor style was amazing in both woodwork and concrete inlays that aren't gargoyles, but represent the servants in the house. Spectacular gothic foyer where pipe organ pipes sat above. Amazing rooms, quaint gardens overlooking Hempstead Bay, and million dollar views. Show up early to get tickets for this particular tour, it's a wow!

There's an entrance fee to come here (paid $15 per vehicle). Great place to come and enjoy serenity with beautiful gardens, nature, beach, marina and a castle alongside. Different trails available. There's picnic areas, dog park, & a children's playground.
The Museum exhibits fossils and traces of dinosaurs which had inhabited the area.
It's nice to come here either alone or with anyone you please (partner, family, pet, etc).
Restrooms available that are clean. Tours available. Gift shop available.
Place closes at 7pm. Wish it was longer so you can enjoy watching the sunset over the marina...

Actually found this place nearly by accident. $10 entry fee for the car. Great trails to take a stride, and with access to the beach. So it's a forest + beach + open park all in one. Definitely should take your family for some green air!

A great place to picnic. You can go to the sandy shore and sit by the water. Has many shells on beach. There are no barbaque grills. Just bring your own food for a picnic.

This place is beautiful with beach and mansion to see. But I don’t recommend going there on weekdays, because the only day they offer tours to the mansion is Sunday. We went there on Wednesday and ended up only seeing the museum (a small room with some pics) and land part, which is not worth it.
It’s a beautiful place anyway and the staff are friendly, so I give it 4 stars.

Museum which exhibits fossils and traces of dinosaurs which had inhabited the area. Architecturally Castle Gould is interesting, with artistic masonry and furnished with curios like amphoras. Friendly staff and cool, clean bathrooms. Ample parking in paved lot, and cast-iron arches adorn the exterior.
