Best location. Great spacious room we had with a balcony. Hands down best place to stay in the town. The staff makes you feel like family. Walking distance to everything the town has to offer. Super comfortable and homie. All the amenities of a 1 bedroom apartment with a dope balcony. I’d definitely go back.

The Carriage House Inn has Historic charm, convenient location & ease of parking. Management was gracious and welcoming. ||Our King room was clean & spacious, comfortable mattress and couch...|however a bit 'funky' with the "kitchen" set up (we did not use). Note, no coffee |maker in the kitchen but a voucher provided for their cafe to get coffee.|There was a view of the bridge/river from our balcony & the common area below was relaxing to enjoy a different perspective of the same.||Bring ear plugs--you are right on the road and the floors above our room creaked.||We chose this location for a mountain biking adventure. The Downieville Outfitters Bike Shuttle is awesome. Would recommend.|Also the River Cafe within walking distance has very good food.

Great place right on the Yuba River.Many places to sit it shade to watch the river. We arrived very early and asked where was parking. She showed us where to park right behind the Motel facing the river
Only downside was the stairs from the parking lot to the street and again inside up to the rooms. Easy self check-in and out. Lots of email communication on what to do and expect. Loved it!

Great little getaway for a night! Was pleased to see provided dog dish, bed & treat.. that was a nice touch for my pup. So peaceful with the sound of the river. Being able to sit out on the balcony and downstairs in the Adirondack chairs was a bliss. Such a quaint little town nestled in the Sierras. Had some excellent Mexican food down the street. Would recommend to anyone ?

Quaint, right on the river. Clean and friendly. Pet friendly as well. A variety of room types. From Suites to singles. People are very friendly. Shops and food in close walking access. Also near trails and CA 49 where there are many campsites. This area from what I understand is great for Mountain Biking.

Had a wonderful stay, the accommodations were perfect! Rooms are well appointed and very clean. The little attention to details were on point. Awesome views of the river and town. Hospitality was incredible as was the charm of the town. Looking forward to returning with my wife for a getaway!

If you have not been to the Banff film festival, Downieville is the place to go, as it is one of the smallest theaters on the entire tour and has the most consecutive days (3), Friday through Sunday. The carriage house inn and Riverside Inn are the two best spots to stay, right in the middle of town. Clean rooms, top-notch, hospitality, and right next to the 2 rivers. This was Our third time, and it was great as always.

Location is great right along the river and Downieville is a cute small mountain town. Our room, the Feather Suite, had a very bad odor both on the porch and occasionally inside the room. Room was not properly cleaned /maintained (food residue in the sink, multiple cigarette butts on the porch and a broken screen door). The outdoor communal patio area had several large dog poops in the seating area. It would also be nice to have a way to make coffee in the room since there aren't a lot of dining options in town.
