Small gift shop but has some very nice items with Sacramento and California on them. Bring your shiny penny and two quarters if you like to have a penny souvenir. They range from shot glasses, mugs, cups, coasters, kitchen towels, stickers, jig saw puzzles, tree ornaments, playing cards, post cards, magnets etc. I recommend book marks! I surely would have purchased that in addition to the other souvenirs I bought. Pam was very nice in helping me on the phone to locate them.

Just the right size, with a great selection for the small space it was in. Friendly and helpful clerk.

We were very bummed that the Capitol was open but that the Gift Shop was closed on Friday, June 24. I highly recommend that if you are reading this review that you call ahead (even if the rest of the Capitol Building is open) to see if the Gift Shop is open.

We also didn't find anywhere else on the grounds to get any type of Capitol souvenir except the smooshed penny machine.
