Bon Ton Baby is THE cutest baby store in Healdsburg. They have an amazing assortment of baby clothes, gifts, baby shoes, books, all the things you need for the new little one in your life. This is my GO TO stop for all baby gifts.

stopped in last week and was blown away by the selection! Already planning my next trip back, they had the cutest little outfits for my baby girl. Also so many teething and toy options for infants, the girl at the counter was so sweet and gave us a little headband.

We went to this shop specifically because we buy Organic products whenever possible and we really like to support local businesses. Everything in the shop was made in China. I can't support that. For the same price you can buy organic baby clothes, on Etsy, that were handmade by mothers, who could really use the money. I understand when people choose made in China because they need something more affordable in that moment because they have a low income. However, it is extremely disappointing and frustrating how consumers will pay marked up prices for goods from China especially when theses consumers are better off financially. Manufacturers choose China because it's dirt cheap. When you buy "made in china" and pay the same price for an article of baby clothing that an article of adult clothing costs, then you are getting ripped off and you are buying into a whole domino effect of negative consequences. You're taking away work from your own country. You're taking away money from your local economy. You're making the United States' political adversary stronger while weakening our country. Then there are the negative impacts on the environment from shipping things across the world. Also, how many human rights violations does China need to accrue before consumers will care? "Ethically made" but by whose standards? China's and that's exactly why the manufacturer is choosing China to manufacture. China also doesn't have regulations like we have in the USA as far as toxic loads in goods and we certainly don't have enough here either. Just search the internet for recent stories about insanely high toxicity levels in products coming from China.
A shop in Healdsburg could certainly afford a higher standard.

One of the best baby shops around. Bon Ton always captures the whimsy of childhood in a subtle and practical way. It’s impossible to go in and not hold something up to your friends squealing, “omigod it’s so cute!” You’ll always get compliments on your btb pieces!
