We recently stopped by Bluestone Café in Manhattan Beach for a to-go order, drawn in by its prime location right on the main street, offering a beautiful view of the area. The café itself has a great atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly sweet and attentive, even though it was quite busy.
We ordered the BL Burrito and the Athletic Burrito, both priced around $17. Unfortunately, while the setting and service were pleasant, the food itself didn’t quite meet expectations. The portion sizes felt underwhelming for the price, and the flavor, while decent, wasn’t anything special. A major downside was the lack of salsa or sauce, which could have elevated the experience. Additionally, the small side salad that came with the order was disappointing, offering just two to three bites, not much for a meal at this price point. It was good and the pickled onions added good flavor to the arugula! But again, just portion size was the biggest missed mark and would not recommend this place.
The wait time was a bit longer than expected, likely due to the crowd, but that’s understandable for a busy spot. Overall, while the location and service were great, the burritos missed the mark for us. If you’re looking for a quick bite in a scenic spot, it might be worth a try, but we’d recommend managing expectations when it comes to portion size and overall value, again my opinion!

You gotta try this place!! The vibes alone made me wanna review. Everyone that works here seems to be so happy and so kind! I am visiting from Seattle, ive never experienced such goodness!! Made my day.

Got the banana matcha, holy crap, so so so yummy. Perfect level of sweetness. The bartender bought me two shots of espresso cause he saw that I am with child and needed the boost.

Then I got the chili scramble with smoked salmon togo to enjoy at the beach.. IT WAS PHENOMENAL. WOW. I almost licked the box. Perfect amount of feta and spice.. I'm in love with this place.

The 30 minute drive was worth having breakfast here. The dining area is very nice and cozy. My server Ruben and also Uriel were on top of everything and made sure we were taken care of and had great recommendations. He recommended the breakfast bowl but made it the he liked it. DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Ruby killed it with the coffees. I definitely recommend the Iced Chai Latte with 2 shots.

Stopped in for the first time while walking around Manhattan Beach. Really liked the layout - there is outside and inside seating with plenty of space. Really nice vibe inside, too. You can grab a table to sit and eat or order at the counter for to-go.

We were just stopping in for a couple of coffees, but the food menu had some great options. The staff was excellent and so helpful! Took the time to actually ask what we liked and didn't.

Our coffees were delicious! Hit the spot. Highly recommend the dirty iced chai - so, so good! We were all very happy we stopped in and would come back again.

New place to me, I was visiting a friend, so we stopped here for lunch. Nice menu choices. It's an Australian Cafe, I should have tried their coffee, but I stuck with water. We had a nice athletes burrito. It was great! Our server, Paris is a recent new US resident (from Australia) and she was so nice & friendly. She made our lunch experience! I recommend for a quick bite with a very healthy vibe!

The best coffee in LA! Being from Melbourne I was looking for a good coffee and breakfast. I was recommended Bluestone Lane and it didn’t miss.
The green goddess bowl was stunning. It was fresh and full of quality ingredients and goodness. The juice (fresh orange, turmeric, ginger) was delicious and not watered down!
I ordered an almond magic, it’s a Melbourne thing
(which cafes in Australia don’t even know about) and it was like being transported back to a Melbourne laneway.
The staff were very efficient, knowledgeable and had a great energy.
Stop by if you’re in Manhattan Beach!

Second time coming in after a decent experience a few months ago.
The server took my name down on a piece of paper as there were no tables available at the time. A table became ready; however no one was monitoring the host stand and the paper was completely covered by a rag. Eventually got seated after we flagged down one of the four servers hanging out at the bar.
When our food arrived, the hot coffee was lukewarm - almost cold and the crisps had only a few whole crisps and the rest were crumbs. The sandwich was just okay - a bit mushy because it was left out for a bit so the avocado spread softened the toast.
After delivering food, service was close to non-existent as all the servers disappeared into the kitchen area even though there were still a few occupied tables left in the restaurant.
Best part was the water was self-service though so we didn't need to rely on the servers to come back!

Seriously the best service, delicious coffee( flat white), and food in town. Love the avocado toast with halloumi cheese and the breakfast burritos. Consistently good food and even better service.
