After reading all the good reviews on Google business I just had to come in and try this business out and cash my check. This wasn't a payroll check fa check the bank sent me for a refund. I had multiple iDs and even tho he couldn't reach the bank being Saturday and all he cashed it and gifted me a T-shirt which I really needed. This man has a great heart and he's an empath. God bless him and his business. I highly recommend.

About a month or so ago, during the late evening I found myself in a bind and didn't have my debit card with me and needed gas. I had a check on me from a job I did, but the banks were closed. I found this place online and it said they cashed checks. Already running low on gas and in a panic,I calf ahead of time to confirm they cash checks. Over the phone he said yes they do, but he couldn't guarantee it over the phone as he needed to see the check to determine and told me to come in. I knew it was a legitimate check so I assumed three would be no issues and drove over. When I got there, he took the check and went I've to his computer or register for close to 5 minutes and then came back and said he couldn't cash it because his bank couldn't verify the check. I had no idea what that meant, but in a panic he gave me $20 in cash because he knew I was going to run out of gas. I thought that was really nice of him. Fast forward to now, I go in with a different check, different company (from my primary job, extra wages that weren't included in direct deposit) and he grabbed the check, looked at me and remembered who I was. He said yeah, I couldn't verify that other check, I won't be able to verify this one. I told him it was a completely different company and he still said no. He now said his bank requires he call the company and the bank to verify the funds, which is something he never mentioned. Why would anyone go there to cash a check with that hassle, they might as well go into the bank during business hours. He indicated that he can only cash checks during bank hours, which wasn't the case a month ago. I pretty much felt like he just didn't like me or something and didn't want to cash it. This place is clearly only a place to go if you're a frequent customer and that he knows you, he doesn't help new customers with valid checks. Probably shouldn't advertise he cashes checks online since it's only done for certain people that he chooses to do it for.

Cool shop with great customer service. They have a good variety with a convenient location and hours. He was very helpful and nice, even though I showed up a minute before they were closing, and helped me find exactly what I was looking for.

I don't know what it is about this market. I don't come here that often, though it's been around forever, at least since I was a kid. When I stopped in midweek for cold drink, I lingered a bit while deciding. Everyone who came through the door after me apparently knew the clerk. "Knew" with a more intimate inflection than casual....and he knew them back. It wasn't just his advanced age that seemed to drive the exchange. The customers were genuinely concerned for his health and good fortune, and he was warm and open with his responses. This store is clearly a safe crossroads of neighbors and merchant. I now go out of my way to habit the store, hoping to learn some names.
