I was finally able to visit this bucket list spot last Saturday and it did not disappoint! Being a MASSIVE The Lost Boys fan, I was so happy to have stepped into the iconic Atlantis Fantasyworld shop. Staff were so incredibly kind and welcoming, I was geeking out really hard and the lovely 2 girls at the counter were so nice. I snagged my own copy of “Vampires Everywhere” as seen on the movie and I was even lucky enough to meet the owner, Joe, who is also a total sweetheart and such a nice person to talk to. He told me and my friends a few cool stories from when movie was shot and was also eager to sign my comic. Still on cloud nine!

The Lost Boys aside, comic selection is amazing and they are super well stocked on various trinkets and memorabilia. Highly recommend!!

I've been wanting to come to Santa Cruz for years because I'm a fan of the movie The Lost Boys. I have gone to all the points of the movie, including Atlantis Fantasyworld which could not be missed, I have taken the comic from the movie which is why I went and took a photo with the girl from the store who was lovely along with her partner. The best comic book store I've ever been to. A must go if you are in the city.

Without a doubt the coolest comic shop I've ever been into. The two ladies working were so incredibly nice and very obviously passionate about their jobs. One of the ladies even out lored me in adventure time knowledge and informed of some new publishing details involving the franchise. During our talk she also told me about how this was the comic shop from the lost boys which I guess is one of their big pulls from the public. This cool feature allows them to carry in high volume signed lost boys comics and even bring in other comic book authors for signed content. Hopeful this comic shop lasts forever, because everyone deserves to experience a high quality comic experience

Joe and the Atlantis team are awesome. I get my monthly subscriptions here, and I've picked up several graphic novels, compendiums, and omnibus. They have knowledgeable and helpful staff, a great selection, and a good environment. 100% recommend.

I would recommend getting the circumstances of an evaluation in writing.

I dropped my comics off for an evaluation. 6 weeks later, I received an offer that was approximately 5% of a generous retail valuation. I understand that they would not be able to buy my collection at full retail, but 5% seemed way too low.

Furthermore, I was told after the fact that most of my comics, which were all stored in some sort of protective plastic, had been removed in order to be evaluated. Instead of being returned to plastic, they were put without any plastic covering or support. Between this loose storage and boxes and the return trip home, they certainly lost value. Most were in mint or near mint condition previously (see photo for an example of spine damage).

I am now going to send them to a consigner and will not be taking the time to repackage each comic book, so they will likely lose even further value in shipping. If I had just sent them to a consigner in the first place when they were properly packaged, it would have made a lot more sense.

If you're a fan of comic books, then you absolutely have to check out this amazing little store. Despite its small size, it's packed to the brim with all sorts of comics, from old classics to new releases. But what really sets this store apart from the rest is the fantastic staff.

From the moment you walk in the door, you're greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello. The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable about all things comics, and they're always happy to help you find what you're looking for. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a first-time reader, they'll take the time to chat with you and offer their expert recommendations.

And even if you're not looking to buy anything, it's worth stopping by just to soak up the atmosphere. The store is decorated with all sorts of cool comic book memorabilia, from vintage posters to action figures, but it's not overwhelming. It's clear that the owners and staff are true fans, and care about what they are doing.

Overall, I can't recommend Atlantis Fantasyworld enough. It's a true gem in the world of comics, and the friendly, knowledgeable staff only make it that much better. So if you're in the area, be sure to swing by and check it out.

Of course, don't forget to pick up a copy of 'Vampires Everywhere!'.....it could save your life.

Awesome selection. I was looking for a specific, new release. The first store I went to was sold out, but luckily Atlantis had it. I was in a hurry, or else I could’ve spent plenty of time there. The woman behind the counter was very friendly.
