Very frustrating experience my first time coming here. I'm trying to be more environmentally aware about the toys I buy so wanted to find some used toys for some of my Christmas gifts. When I got home I realized that two of the things I got didn't have the pieces that should come with them so they were not worth what I paid. I came back to return it and they told me I needed a receipt. I opted out of a bag at the time of purchase and there was no receipt given to me. They argued with me over $10 and refused to give me my money back. Now I have a store credit that I will not be using because I will not be back. Instead of trusting a customer, they told me they would have to go back and look at their cameras to see if I was telling the truth. I don't appreciate being treated like a criminal when I come in to a store. I understand store policies, but when the store employee is the person who makes a mistake by not giving a receipt there should be exceptions made. Horrible customer service. They told me that they don't need my business because they have so many other people coming in. Great, you will not have it again.

EDIT: I’ve attached a photo of what they considered “too worn” or not “seasonably appropriate” for December in San Diego (it’s currently in the 70s).
There’s definitely something shady going on at this store, or at the minimum, just rude/no customer service.
1. There’s no public bathroom. How can you run a store where kids come all the time, and not have a bathroom? To make it worse, none of the stores in the strip mall have public bathrooms.
2. They have weird consignment policies that other OAUC locations do not. For instance, when you sell to them, you have to come back same day or else they’ll keep your items and sell at their own discretion and pay you nothing. Your quote is only good same-day. And with 3-5 hour waits at times, there’s a lot of waiting. This location is about 30 minutes north of San Diego, so most people are forced to wait or waste a ton of gas. Or they sell your clothes and pay you nothing.
3. You see people selling new with tags items all day long (again, while waiting 3 hours), yet there’s literally never new with tags items on the racks. Where do they all go?
4. Unless you’re a Latino-looking Spanish speaker, they are incredibly rude to you. I’ve had employees purposely skipping me in line to help the Spanish speakers behind me. And I know this because she told the lady this in Spanish. I may be Caucasian, but I speak Spanish. And don’t even bother asking them a question or they’ll act like YOU are the idiot.
5. It really seems like they truly don’t care about the customer. At any given time, there’s one check stand open and 3 buyers. The reason for the ridiculously long wait is because all 3 spend half of their time playing with one of their child and generally shooting the breeze.
I will be searching for a difficult consignment store. This place is a joke.
EDIT: I made the mistake of trying them again. Staff is still rude. Wouldn’t buy back two pairs of new Keens because they want snow boots. They do realize they are in San Diego, right They also had never heard of Keen or Kate Quinn (both were new), which is wild to me. I swear they come up with random BS answers as to why they can’t take something—too worn, not winter-y, not summer-y, etc. By how picky they are, I expected their inventory to be superb. However, it’s far from it—I found sweaters with bleach stains, tons of stretched out t-shirts, worn elastic, etc. You can find *some* good things, but you have to be very choosy.

I did not expect the prices to be so high for their used clothes and some of them weren’t in good condition. I tried donating a few of my babies clothes and such, but all they were looking for is name brand. I brought 2 full bags of new born-2t clothes and they said they were fully stocked. I believe it was just an excuse. Then a women came with a Walker, jumper and stroller, immediately took it,
It’s just crazy to me.

I have been selling and shopping at this location for over 13 years now. Through my boys clothes all the way to the grandchildren now. Always outstanding customer service! There is a mother and daughter that are usually working whom are so kind and friendly. They run that shop like a welled oiled machine, love it! However today was the complete opposite. New gal I had never met before and the experience was so different. I probably will not be returning. She was nasty when I arrived. Nothing welcoming about her attitude at all. Some of which was not what was coming out of her mouth, but given out in body language. She then said it would be 3 or so hours. So I thought I would come back. As I left she mentioned you must pick up by 5. I had never heard that before. So an hour later after I received a text the buy was ready.. I called and said I think the gal said I need to pick up before 5? The person on the line said Shown again and hold she came back on and said ok come on then and tell the night crew you called. Sounded so over the top but ok. Then I show up at 5:28. No greeting no hello nothing.the gal from
This morning was waiting on a military family with the same attitude she had shown me earlier this morning, so it’s evident at this point that that is just her demeanor! Very sad to work at a children’s resale shop ( around kids and working class families shopping there for a deal to provide for their children and have to deal with her. I hope the owner sees this and makes it known to her that way of conducting herself is completely unacceptable in that store and as a whole. Retain they could find someone wanting to do that job. People in today’s world have a million options for shopping and spending their hard earned money… who wants to spend it with this type of experience

Came with 2 bins of almost hardly used baby clothes and a brand new outside baby swing and came out with $13 and 2 bins still. They got a brand new swing that was worth more than what I got in total… definitely a rip off

Love this place , first time going. And I went on the perfect day they were having such great deals. Everything is organized. They have everything toys, strollers , clothes, shoes, accessories and more. The one thing I didnt like is that they told me straight away that they weren't going to buy anything off of me. They didnt even look at my bag or everything and it was 1pm. But I still shopped afterwards.

Great place to get baby and children clothes and items. Definitely recommended! Especially if you are low income. You can buy and sell baby and children items and you Definitely get your money's worth of items.
